Fieberbrunn is a sight to behold at Christmas, and is truly a perfect location for a peaceful Christmas in the snow. The traditional architecture and surrounding trees barely need any lights to make them seem any more festive, and a sleigh ride is bound to get everyone into the yuletide spirit. Visit the nearby Panoramabad ice rink if you need more than one winter sport per day, and there’s nothing more surreal than a swim in a heated pool surrounded by the snow. Most of the hotels put on special gala deals for the day itself, which is a great way to ensure a stress free Christmas day- you don’t need to worry about booking a restaurant, and no one needs to spend the day chained to the stove! If you can spare a day or two each side of the trip then try a self-drive holiday this year- you’ll be able to soak up the festive spirit in a different country on the way down, and there’ll be plenty of space in the car to hide the presents! Alternatively, if you don’t want to spend too long away from the rest of the family at this time of year, or there’s a party that you just can’t miss for New Years, a package including flights and airport transfers would be a better fit- you’ll be able to maximise your skiing whilst cutting down on time spent in transit.
