Soldeu & El Tarter New Year holidays
If you're skiing on a shoestring, whisking the clan away after Christmas or just want somewhere different to start off New Year, Soldeu and El Tarter could be just the answer.
El Tarter usually puts on a New Year’s Eve lantern parade, best followed by Cocktails at Dylan’s.
Andorra is famed for its British ski instructors and the Espiolets beginner’s area is an amazing place to pick up the basics. It’s not all easy skiing though - tackle the Avet slope (which has hosted World Cup races) for a New Year’s challenge or shred your heart out at El Tarter’s snowpark (the biggest in the country). While the snow here isn’t in the league of the French glaciers, the slopes are usually in good shape at this time of the season - 60% can be covered by artificial snow if need be.
Andorra’s duty-free shopping rarely sees any pining for the January sales back home - take the 30 minute bus ride to the capital, Andorra La Vella and make a killing in the duty-free clearance sales.
