Pas de la Casa Half Term holidays
Andorra’s often much quieter than the European greats at half-term, not to mention an arm and a leg cheaper ̶ if you’ve never skied before, this is a way to test the waters without splashing the cash; if you’ve always wanted to heli-ski, this is where to do it at half the cost.
The 210km of Grandvalira’s pistes hold their own with the best of them, being served by 64 modern lifts (with the potential to whisk 100,700 up the mountain every hour). Pas is also home to a superb ski school and the vast Abelletes beginner’s area, so the uninitiated can make leaps and bounds in just a week. Tricksters, meanwhile, can hit any of the four snow-parks, working to some of the latest closing times we’ve ever seen. 3-6 year olds will love first lessons with the Snow Garden’s conveyor-belts and colourful obstacles, plus there’s a crèche over at Grau Roig.
Activities like igloo building and archery spice up half-terms for kids here, while the local McDonalds and Burger Kings save fussy eaters from a week of ‘foreign food’.
