Chalet de la Marine is run by brothers Cedric and Arnaud Gorini who are local ski instructors. You can ski, snowshoe or walk to the chalet for its cheerful self service bistro or traditional gourmet restaurant (which was awarded a fork in the 2013 Michelin Guide). Either hop off the Cascades chairlift and ski down the blue Dalles piste or ski the Tete Ronde red from the Péclet Funitel. The balcony has lovely views over the Belleville Valley and indoors is cosy and traditional with a lovely fireplace. For something special, do one of their ‘traditional evenings’ (usually on Wednesdays) where you follow a gourmet dining experience with a torchlight descent back down.

Starting his culinary travels over 10 years ago, Tyrone Power has honed cooking skill in a range of foreign cuisines, to complement his expertise in hearty English dependables. His dishes have delighted on super-yachts, villas and homes, though the chalet - where he started his career - will always hold a special place. Today he and his team offer a private service to chalets across the Alps, along with delightful cooking classes for up to 4.
Ask Amandine’s scores of returning clients and any will tell you - they can no longer ski without theirs. With databases of chefs with diverse styles and credentials - they carefully match clients and cooks, whether you’d like a week of gourmet cuisine or hearty family favourites. They can ship someone out to man the kitchen for just an evening, if you’re hosting a blow-out bash in the Alps, and however long you hire them, they’ll see to the dishes, the kitchen cleaning – some even ski touring and chauffeuring.
