There's not a lot especially geared towards children aged under 4 - a public playpark and the swimming pool are the two major assets. Walking to the gondola or waiting for the ski bus are not particularly appreciated by most kids. On the other hand, the pedestrianised centre means it is fairly safe when an excited child decides to run out of some shop where you're studying the ski gear bargains. The toboggan run and high street rides are always popular. Once children are 4 or 5 years of age or older Schladming begins to look very appealing. Both of the ski schools offer the option of supervised full-day ski kindergarten, and the intermediate level trails around much of the mountain are great fun for kids with a few days skiing on the nursery slopes under their belts. There is a separate area for children, with children’s lifts and a magic carpet.
