Weather and Man Made Snow in Hemsedal

On an annual basis, Hemsedal's average frozen precipitation is 350cm.

This natural weather-created snowfall is helped along with 130 snow guns or "cannons" on 17km of piste - that's over 40% of the total length of Hemsedal trails.

Off-piste snowboarding and sking is allowed and of course this has the secondary effect of reducing the wear and tear on snow condition on the pisted runs.

In warmer spring months the best riding is on cooler and shady North facing slopes.
