Quellfisch is a massive (15,000m squared) fishing lake in the Kufstein area. It’s a great place to practice your cast – there’s even a fly fishing specific area. The pond is stocked with various species of trout (rainbow, brook and lake, for example). If you’re with people learning to fish – especially children – they might appreciate a few casts in the purpose built family fishing ponds. For young kids there’s a playground to mess around on.
One of the best things about the fishing pond is its bistro and lakeside terrace. Grab a bite to eat and relax – try the smoked trout, caught right on-site. You can take your catch with you at the end of the day and cook it up when you get back to your accommodation. From March to November the pond opens at about 8:30am and shuts at 6:00pm – unless the weather’s really unpleasant.
