Lapland Hotels
Lapland’s an amazing place to visit – and whether you come with the family, someone special or a whole bunch of friends, a hotel can be the best place to stay.
There’s a terrific range of hotels in Lapland, from simpler 3 star properties to spectacular luxury lodges. Some sit slap bang on the edge of the ski area, while others are tucked away in the wilderness to up the chance of Northern Lights sightings…
Facilities such as restaurants, bars, saunas, gyms and swimming pools give you plenty to do moments from your bedroom.
Hotels are a super type of accommodation if you’re coming with a group as there will often be rooms leftover if anyone decides to join the Lapland trip later on... Individuals can choose the room type that suits them, and everyone can enjoy the communal areas together.
Families with young kids can take advantage of hotels with in-house childcare, as well as facilities like playrooms and water parks.
For a chance to explore the local restaurants at lunch and dinnertime, your best bet is to go for bed and breakfast. If you want your evening meal sorted too, book half board. Alternatively, you could go the whole hog with full board, where every meal is included and you often get wine with dinner too.
Our favourite Lapland hotels include the Äkäs Hotel in Ylläs, nestled in the forest just 500m from the village centre and the K5 Hotel in Levi that’s just a short walk from the main lifts. The Tunturi Hotel in Saariselkä is also one of our best, situated just 200m from the village centre and with cross-country skiing available right from the door.
Though hotels are the main type of accommodation in the Lapland ski resorts, there are also apartments and chalet-style log cabins here too if you’d prefer a self-catered stay. You can also browse ski hotels all over the world here.
