Overview: hotel description: Walliserhof Grand Hotel & Spa description

The Walliserhof has recently undergone extensive renovations and is now ready to show you its new design and unique concept. The public areas have a modern alpine style which follow through to the individually decorated guest rooms.

During your stay at the Walliserhof, you'll be positioned in the centre of the village and have easy access to the resort amenities, including a range of bars and restaurants. You'll also have free use of the hotel shuttle service to the slopes during it's operating hours and the public ski bus stop is located just outside the building. After ski relaxation

Be sure to check out the superb 2,100m² spa complete with swimming pool, various saunas, a steam bath, a whirlpool and a light-flooded relaxation area. If you fancy some pampering, the wellness experts offer a long menu of massages and cosmetic treatments. Talking of menus, dine around in the hotels three restaurants, Cäsar Ritz, Del Ponte Pizzeria and Fondue-Stübli - There's plenty of choice when it comes to your evening meal.

Last Christmas

Saas Fee celebrates 40 years of Wham!'s Last Christmas music video being shot in the village, and as the crew and George Michael stayed at the Walliserhof, they too are reviving the memories of when the team stayed there in 1984. Throughout December there is live music with DJ sets every Friday & Saturday, and on the 21st December 2024 you can celebrate Wham! at the Last Christmas's Big 40th Birthday Party. While you're there take part in a augmented reality scavenger hunt through the hotel to 'find the missing props for the music video' with a George Michael cocktail - it costs CHF10 and includes a cocktail.

Family friendly

If you have children over the age of two, take advantage of the free supervised play room service to allow you to enjoy the spa in the afternoon or a drink or meal a bit later on. Families are also well catered for as the Walliserhof offers early meal times for children in the restaurant and facilities such as cots free of charge.

Perhaps this pretty car-free village has gained a reputation as ‘Pearl of the Alps’ because it sits nestled in a powder bowl encircled by thirteen 4000m peaks. Massive mountains rise from every side of the valley like the peaks of a Toblerone bar, providing the village with a dramatic and awe-inspiring backdrop. Visitors rave about the high-altitude ski area, similar in height to neighbouring Zermatt, with its extensive glacier which allows for skiing almost all year round. Many ski teams choose to train here ...
The area has something to offer skiers and snowboarders of every level. It’s a good choice if you’re hitting the slopes for the first time as the nursery slopes are snow sure and there are some fantastic ski schools here. Take little learners to the local Kid’s Fun Park for an exciting and safe area with a magic carpet, slalom run, snow carousel and lots of fun toys. There are three ski schools to choose from and if you go further afield to Saas-Grund you’ll find the charming Hohsi Snowland which is a self-p...
For lunch head to Boccolino (next to the nursery slopes) which dishes up pizza, pasta and local specialities. On the other end of the scale is the decadent Fletschhorn, one of the top restaurants in the region, with one Michelin star and 18 points in the Gault Milau gourmet guide. It’s set in the Relais & Chateaux hotel, a 10-minute taxi ride from town. The young folk tend to hang out at Popcorn, a bar and club beneath the hotel of the same name. If you’re still feeling the buzz after a day on the slopes then ...

"Food was exceptional"

The hotel was really nice, a very decent sized room and the food was exceptional, champagne was served at breakfast to get you ready for the day ahead, lovely spa and swimming pool, you couldn’t really beat the quality of the hotel. The staff were a very high standard. The hotel was actually 3 in one, with different passengers, got a little bit lost on the first days. Perfected located between the main lift and the town. The lifts are around 200m away, just enough time to get the legs going. Make sure you sit on the right hand side of the train as the journey is beautiful, you go around lake Geneva for an 1hr ½.
