This package holiday to Village Montana Apartments in Tignes, France departs Saturday 15th March 2025, for a 14 night stay on a "self catering" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

"Just what we needed"

Ray, Alex and Callum, Ringwood
4/ out of 5
I was really impressed with our apartment, it was perfectly ideal for what we needed. The boys were studying for exams and there was room for them to do that. It was perfect for three of us, with four it would probably be fine too, maybe a bit cosy but you’re out on the slopes all day anyway. There are ski lockers – we were on the first floor and the lockers were on the second floor. It was easy as you could get the lift to the lockers and ski out once you had your stuff, however although it was great if you have skis, it didn’t work so well if you had snowboards so we ended up opting to keep our things in the hall of our apartment, which worked fine – it was much easier to get out this way as the locker room was a bit cluttered. The location is perfect and access onto the slopes is ever so easy. The only downside is getting out on a snowboard as opposed to skis because it’s quite flat – on skis the location is perfect as you can just push yourself along. This was only a very minor thing. Access from Le Lac to the other village was easy with regular bus services. The nearest shop is probably only about 50 yards down the road, but it’s the most expensive shop in the village - about two times the price of another Spar shop, which is just across the village square by the ski lifts. We ate out as much as we ate in, but the kitchen in the apartment was fine. There were a couple of things we needed but we spoke to the staff and they sorted everything straight away.

"Great ski in location"

Graham Finlayson, Leeds

You can ski right out which is really good and then at the end of the day you pretty much ski off the piste and into the apartment. It took us a couple of days to work out where the nearest places were, but it’s a bit of a hike to the nearest supermarket (there is a little shop within 50m in front of the atrium but it was quite small and closed quite early). Inside was really basic and definitely dated, but we knew what we were getting. We had two separate rooms with 2 single beds in each and then a convertible sofa bed in the lounge (which was basically a mattress) where you had a pretty rubbish TV. Heating, hot water etc were all fine.
