Tucked between the river and the foot of the mountain, the views of the valley from Hotel Sunny Sölden are hard to beat. This peaceful corner doesn’t come at the cost of après fun, though. Sölden’s centre, with its cafes, restaurants and fabled nightlife, is only a 6-minute stroll away – so a swift shift from rustic huts to tabletop struts.

It’s just as quick to hit the slopes too. After a leisurely amble along the river, the Giggijochbahn gondola’s just across the footbridge – easy to reach in a matter of minutes. At the top you’ll find some gentle, beginner-friendly runs, as well as the Silberbrünnl chairlift, your first step to zigzagging your way across the Sölden ski area.

When the time comes to hang up your skis for the night, Sunny has a few luxuries to welcome you back. A visit to the spa will have you relaxing and ready for more skiing in no time. You’ve a choice of saunas, as well as a heated pool and, for a bit extra, you can even treat yourself to a massage. Before trotting to the bar for an aperitif, you might want to pay a visit to Specki and Velentina – Sunny’s resident piglets.
