Location: where is Suite Baloo

A fantastic ski in – ski out location in the very heart of Arc 1950. The whole resort completely pedestrianised and car-free, you can literally ski right through the centre.

 We're absolutely thrilled to be opening our brand new property in Arc 1950, and believe Suite Baloo delivers the ultimate skiing venue. Our Bear Suites are affectionately named after mythical bears from around the world and offer the intimacy of our renown and award winning chalet service with the fabulous facilities of our Bear Resort; a spacious common lounge and bar, proper size pool complex with sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and massage suites, gym, cinema, kids playroom and concierge ski room with rental shop. There is even a small conference room for the more conscientious or tax aware.

Suite Baloo is a private chalet-apartment on the fourth floor with direct access to the village just down the hall. Two bedroom catered chalet-apartments are hard to come by in Arc 1950, but one with 4 additional bunk beds even more so. Suite Baloo provides unique accommodation for 4-8 guests, a delightful space for a small group of friends, or a larger family up to 8 looking for a private ski experience in Les Arcs.

The apartment itself has a comfortable and stylish open plan living / dining room, with balcony boasting views towards Mont Blanc, providing ample space for four or eight to relax after a day's skiing. There are two en suite bedrooms, each with additional bunk beds (children occupying bunk beds pay half price).

Your dedicated host will provide a cooked breakfast, afternoon tea, canapés on the first and last evening, and a 3 course evening meal on 6 nights, followed by cheese board and coffee and served with a choice of red and white wine.

Arc 1950 is the most pretty of the Les Arcs resorts, some describe it as a Disney set. It is located along the side of the Baptiste Giabiconi blue piste and opposite the Marmottes and Bois de L'Ours chairlifts. You can glide away from the concierge managed ski room and rental shop or stroll across the piste to the magical traffic free village of Arcs 1950. An extraordinary high altitude intersection of pistes and forty charismatic shops, cafés, bars and restaurants.

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our catered ski holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner

This package holiday to Suite Baloo in Les Arcs, France departs Sunday 20th April 2025, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. Les Arcs came to be in 1968 after a group of ski instructors and architects dreamt up a resort with all the perks of a village but a mountainside location. As you'd expect from one of the biggest ski areas on the planet, there's everything from gorgeous tree-lined runs to wild, white-knuckle off-piste. For beginners, each of the 3 main Arcs has 'ski tranquille' zone, and the wide beginner runs leading to the resort have gentle gradients perfect for practising. Local instructors are on hand to show you the ropes, with ski schools based in each of the main villages (1800 has the most). If you're looking for a party, Arc 1800 is the place to be. With heaps of watering holes like the Red Hot Saloon (or the 'Red Bar' to use local lingo), Benji's and La Folie Douce. If you're looking for more of a French-style après spot, Ambiente Cafe has a really cool atmosphere and lots of nice cocktails (happy hour usually starts at 4) while Le club 1950 your venue if you're looking to party into the wee hours.
