St Eugene Golf Resort & Casino Summary

This golf and casino resort is located 10 minutes from Cranbrook, British Columbia, and 20 minutes from the picturesque town of Kimberley. It is framed by the Canadian Rockies, the Purcell Mountains and the St. Mary's river. It is also just minutes from the Fort Steele heritage town and the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel. Cranbrook/Canadian Rockies International Airport is 5 minutes away. Steeped in tradition, this original resort and casino is an impressive turn-of-the-century stone building. The resort is the only project in Canada where a First Nation decided to turn an icon of an often sad period of its history into a powerful economic engine by converting an old Indian residential school into an international resort destination. It offers 125 rooms, including 49 single rooms, 73 double/twin rooms, 1 junior suite and 2 suites. Air conditioning, a lobby, 24-hour reception and check-out, a hotel safe, lift access, a pub and a number of restaurants are provided. 372 m² of meeting space and the 1767 m² Casino of the Rockies also feature. Room service is available for a fee, and free unlimited parking is available to guests arriving by car. A complimentary airport shuttle service is provided. There is also a shuttle service offering frequent daily trips from the Casino of the Rockies to Cranbrook (complimentary). The beautifully appointed guest rooms offer a warm and inviting atmosphere and feature heritage 1900s' décor. The turn-of-the-century furnishings, together with all the added touches, offer guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of their surroundings. Each room comes with either 1 king-size bed or 2 double beds. The following amenities are included in all standard rooms: complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing board, hairdryer, satellite/cable TV, safe, mini fridge and high-speed Internet access. An en suite bathroom with bath and shower, as well as individually regulated air conditioning and heating, also features.

You’ll find Kimberley in the Purcell mountains of British Columbia and while the resort is little known, it packs a pretty big punch. Because it’s not as big a name as massive BC resorts like Whistler, the area’s known for being gloriously crowd free, letting you roam the ski area without hanging around in queues or having to worry about traffic on the piste. It’s not just the skiing that brings visitors to this end of the woods, the world famous Trickle creek golf course also calls Kimberley home. The Al...
The massive ski area includes 4 sections: Northstar mountain, Tamarack Ridge, Vimy Ridge and Black Forest with 68 marked runs and 12 in the glades. The new Owl zone is super for learning the basics if you’re skiing for the first time. Beginners and early intermediates should start off on Northstar mountain. Easy Way and Canada Way will get beginners started while more confident skiers can try Midwinter and Ego Alley. There’s some terrain for experts here too: black diamonds include Blueberry and Blast Off a...
In the resort, Montana’s has a super menu, cosy fireplaces and super views of the mountains. Stemwinder Bar & Grill is the place to be for après, with a good sized bar, BBQ, music and entertainment. You’ll also find an outdoor Ice Rink, usually with a nearby bonfire to keep non-skaters warm. Other activities include bowling and curling and you can watch the latest blockbusters in the cinema (in previous years there’s been a shuttle bus to take you to the cinema and back). For families staying here, the tou...
