Overview: hotel description: Sport Hotel Village description

The Village is one of the three Sport hotels in Soldeu, and they’re all connected so you can really make the most of the shared restaurants, bars, spa and kids’ clubs. It’s the most traditional of the three, with its simple rooms and wood panelled lobby – which also has huge windows overlooking the slopes, so flop on a sofa and watch other skiers and boarders making their way down the hill.

You’ll be staying half board, so buffet breakfasts and dinners are included. If you fancy a change though – or just want to pop back at lunchtime – there are six à la carte restaurants where you can try everything from tapas and pizza to gourmet Japanese. And come après time, choose from the impressive cocktail list at Glassbar 1850 or stop for a pint at The Villager pub.

Pay extra to use the spa and you can drift between five floors-worth of pools, hot tubs and saunas – blissful. And if you’re here with the family, you can make this most of the hotel-run kids’ club for some readymade off-slope fun for little ones.

It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

Soldeu and El Tarter are the more reserved neighbours of lively Pas de La Casa, and share the same Grandvalira ski area with the best skiing in the Pyrenees. Over 200km of slopes, three immaculately maintained snowparks, and enough mountain restaurants to keep even gastro-skiers occupied. Down at resort level great bars and restaurants let you take advantage of Andorra’s famous sunny afternoons and, if you’re looking for a trip to avoid the crowds and prices of the Alps, a ski holiday in Soldeu or El Tarter is hard to beat.

Together with Pas de la Casa, Soldeu and El Tarter make up the Grandvalira which is the largest, highest and most popular ski area in Andorra. Soldeu is the larger and livelier of the two villages, with El Tarter retaining a more traditional feel. Although just around the corner from Pas de la Casa, there is a much more relaxed and family friendly vibe in Soldeu and El Tarter, and they have successfully distanced the villages from the cheap and cheerful heavy partying reputation that Andorra built up in the nine...
The Grandvalira ski area is the largest in the Pyrenees, and recent expansions and infrastructural improvements have enhanced it sufficiently so that it is rightly considered a viable alternative to skiing in the Alps, especially compared to the smaller resorts. With over 200km of piste, three snow parks, a boarder cross course and designated freeriding areas there’s fun to be had regardless of how you like to spend your day on the mountains. 60% of the ski area is covered by artificial snowmaking facilities, s...
Whilst the nightlife in this neck of the woods is overshadowed by nearby Pas de La Casa, there’s still enough variety for a one week ski holiday. And if this doesn’t prove to be the case, then Pas is just a short bus ride away… With a good range of tapas and assorted pub grub, as well as the usual suspects drinks wise, the Villager is the first port of call after big a day on the mountain. Fat Albert’s (Fatty’s to the locals) serves a range of local specialities and European staples. The nightclub upst...

"Hotel and staff were really good."

Ray & Karen
5/ out of 5
We really enjoyed the only thing was we took our son who’s 22 but it was a bit quiet for him, the hotel and staff were really good, we asked them about using the spa. Hotel staff really really nice, the staff in the restaurant were lovely, not complaints about the hotel the view was gorgeous. Food was lovely they included a couple of glasses of wine or beer with half board. The ski access was right out the back door and the lift was right there. A couple of morning it was a bit busy but its what you would expect, and it moved fairly quickly no real queues. The ski World Cup was there while we were there and it started to build up. The worry was there wasn’t enough snow in town, but they looked after the snow on the slopes so well, the last few days it snowed. It was great a great experience, and top tip to use the ski lockers. We were warned on day 1 about the 3 hour transfer but they did a stop half way at a nice small café type thing. The ski hire shop were fantastic they made it so easy for the next day. The town was nice, quiet found a little coffee shop found a bar watched the football. The place felt safe, people there were sensible, no drunken people. Couldn’t have been a better place. Perfect holiday. 5 out of 5
