Rock The Pistes first started in 2010 and brings a fresh, diverse festival experience. This week-long event attracts over 30,000 visitors every year. Concerts take place in all the resorts, including Morzine and Avoriaz.

Where is Rock The Pistes Festival?

Rock The Pistes Festival is held in Les Portes Du Soleil during mid-March. Perched on the edge of the piste, between the Swiss and French border, this hedonistic ski and party-lovers paradise is perfect for those looking to maximise their time on the slopes, while also enjoying the echoing beats at high altitude.

The Portes Du Soleil region boasts 600km of pistes, which offers a vast range of terrain to suit all abilities. The ski lifts will stay open for half an hour later than usual for the whole week of the festival to ensure you can ski back to your accommodation without the last-minute panic. Shuttle buses are also offered to get between resorts.

Geneva is the closest international airport to the Portes Du Soleil ski area and has the quickest transfer time at around 1 hour 30 minutes. Once you’ve landed at Geneva, you can either take a train, bus, private transfer or hire a car. It is strongly advised to book your transfer in advance. Ask a SNO representative for recommendations.

Rock The Pistes is against the stunning backdrop the Dents du Midi and overlooking miles of pure white piste. Concerts start at 1.30pm and DJs warm up from 12.45pm. There are food and drink stalls provided at every concert venue. The venues are only accessible by ski or snowboard, making this event literally unmissable. For those not skiing, do not fret, as the central village of the Portes du Soleil, Morzine, hosts a wide range of acts across the bars and stages at après time throughout the week so the party continues long after the last lifts.

Aside from the music, Rock The Pistes also hosts a two-day ski treasure hunt, which sees skiers hunting seventeen markers hidden around the ski area. This is a brilliantly fun game for everyone to get involved in. If you’re feeling the need to recharge during this energetic week, head to the spa at the aquatic centres and thermal baths in the area.
