Rise Festival

Rise Festival is a six-day French dance music and snowsports festival. The festival uniquely takes place at the start of the season, usually the week before Christmas. The festival takes over the village of Les Deux Alpes, where there are bars and tasty food options. This fun-filled week encompasses a wide variety of experiences, from live music and husky safaris, to helicopter rides and glacier yoga, there is nowhere else to be but Les Deux Alpes at the iconic Rise Festival in December.

Rise covers several outdoor stages and an indoor arena, which keeps the party going until the early hours. The biggest acts will perform on the main stage. For those not fussed about the morning ski, then continue the party at the indoor arena, which holds some epic late-night sessions. Alternatively, ski all morning and join the Après-ski parties that kick-off around 3pm every day.

Where is Rise Festival?

Rise Festival is held at the home of Europe’s largest skiable glacier and one of the five largest resorts in France, Les Deux Alpes. Les Deux Alpes boasts 225km of pistes and is renowned for its excellent off-piste terrain. There are plenty of beginner and intermediate runs too. The après scene is lively with a great choice of bars and restaurants. The 6-day lift pass also includes entry to the resort’s outdoor heated swimming pool and ice rink. The village itself consists of modern and traditional buildings; the range of accommodation is extensive and suited to all budgets.

The closest airport to Les Deux Alpes is Grenoble, which takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. Chambery and Lyon Airports are around 2 hours away and transfers from Geneva take approximately 3 hours. If you are travelling by train, the nearest train station is Jarrie-Vizille and you can get a taxi or transfer to resort from there. If you are booking your ski holiday package (flights and accommodation) with SNO, your transfer from the airport to the resort will be included.

What is Rise Festival like?

Rise Festival has seen a huge surge in ticket sales since its inception in 2013; and has become one the key players in the ski festival scene. The festival mantra is ‘Party On Top Of The World’, which couldn’t be more true as it is located on top of the glacier, with stunning 360-degree views.

Rise offers the ultimate combination of snowsports and live music. Expect the best of house, garage, and drum & bass. Away from the music, there are plenty of snowsports on offer, such as dog sledding and ice disco. Rise Festival places emphasis on wellbeing, in the form of yoga, meditation and spa retreats, so you can enjoy some downtime in between some hardcore partying and skiing. Other activities include bottomless brunch, alpine helicopter rides, snowmobiling, glacier yoga, plus a wide variety of restaurants and bars in the festival village.

There are plenty of other venues around the resort, including Les Deux Alpes’ famous Pano Bar for après. Feel the effects of the night before fade away as you glide down the snow-covered slopes; shredding the powder truly is the best way to recover from a hangover.

When is Rise Festival?

The festival uniquely takes place at the start of the season, around the second week of December. What better way to kick start the ski season than with an epic week in Les Deux Alpes, with some of the best DJs in the world, incredible scenery, and everything you ever dreamed of in one place?

Who is playing at Rise Festival?

Electronic and dance music enthusiasts flock to the snowy peaks of Les Deux Alpes each year. Rise Festival has seen the likes of Chase & Status, Shy FX, Wilkinson, Hybrid Minds, Purple Disco Machine, among many more. In 2019 the line-up included well-known names such as Annie Mac, Clean Bandit, Camelphat and DJ EZ.

The line-up is released in July and to be ahead of the game, make sure you follow Rise Festival on social media for announcements in order to be first in line for tickets. Rise has hosted a number of impressive music partners, including Ibiza Rocks, Hospitality and Applebum.

How can I book Rise festival?

Tickets can be bought via the Rise Festival’s website. It is best to book your ticket first to secure the cost and avoid the higher tiered pricing that increases closer to the date.
