Overview: apartment description: Residence Lores description

Residence Lores is a small residence perfect for guests looking for good value for money within easy walking distance of the resort centre. Only 600 metres walk to the Nives lift and 500 meters from the centre of resort, location is spot on.

Selva is full of great cafes and restaurants but if you want to keep the cost down, you can visit the local supermarket which is also located nearby and pick up everything you need to cook a hearty meal in the comfort of your own accommodation. Alternatively, you can pay to upgrade to half board and dine at the Hotel Antares.

There are 2 apartment types available which sleep from 2 to 6 people. Final cleaning, linen and towels are all includes as well as use of the pool and fitness room at Hotel Antares 600m away. Guests can also use the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi but at an additional local charge.

Transfer time: approx. 3 hours by coach from Innsbruck airport.

All apartments have a kitchenette with 2 electric cooking rings (4 electric cooking rings in two bedrooms apartment), kettle, fridge, TV, hairdryer, bathroom, WC and views over the surrounding mountains. Some have balconies (available on request but cannot be guaranteed). Final cleaning is included though kitchen area should be left clean or there may be a charge. Weekly change of linen and towels is also included.

Studio apartments are around 30m² and sleep up to 3 people. There is a pull down double bed and a single sofa bed.

Two bedroom apartments are around 60m² sleep 3-6 people. There are 2 double bedrooms (1 with en-suite bathroom) and a double sofa bed.

Guests will enjoy meals in the hotels restaurant where each morning a hot and cold buffet breakfast is set and ready for you. Feedback from previous guests also suggests good quality coffee is served. After a day skiing, come back and indulge in a 4 course evening meal with a choice and also includes an antipasto and salad buffet.

Selva is the best known and highest of Val Gardena’s close-set group of villages, which also include Ortisei and Santa Cristina. Val Gardena is part of the expansive Dolomiti Superski area and topping the list of reasons to visit the Dolomites, or ‘Pale Mountains’, is its status as a UNESCO world heritage site - Selva has some striking views of the Sassolungo massif and Puez mountains on either side. The nursery slopes are close to town and there’s a nice collection of blues towards one side of Piz Seteur and at Plan de Gralba (it’s worth mastering the bus timetable when going onto Plan de Gralba as taking the mountain route can land a beginner on some rather tricky reds). There are a number of ski school options available as well as a Fun Park for the younger-hearted. Just by looking at the piste map you can see the intermediate-friendly nature of the skiing here. Italian resorts don’t tend to be overly wild when it comes to après ski but with 20 bars, 45 restaurants and 2 main clubs Selva does rather well... If you’ve never had the iconic Bombardino beverage, this is a good place to sample one! Bar Saltos is a good foodie spot with a sometimes themed menu and music scene for later on. La Stua, near the Costabella ski lift, is great for après ski with a sunny terrace and live music. By the Dantercepies, Panorama does some hearty dishes, perfect before the final run...
