Overview: apartment description: Residence Le Tikal description

Getting to and from Residence Le Tikal couldn’t be simpler – these apartments sit right alongside a green run so you can step outside the door and swoosh off. And if you'd rather walk, the lifts and nursery slopes are just a few minutes’ away on foot.

Inside, the apartments are simple and modern, with sleek black furniture and pops of cheery red and orange. They all come with a balcony or terrace so you can look out over the slopes. To stock up on food for the week, stroll over to the connected Temples du Soleil shopping complex, where there’s a supermarket and bakery.

For an extra cost, you’ll get access to the wellness area with a pool and sauna at the Soleil, so make sure you pack your swim things too. Add in a games room and pool table, and your evenings are sorted.

This package holiday to Residence Le Tikal in Val Thorens, France departs Saturday 24th January 2026, for a 7 night stay on a "self catering" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

2300m at the top of the Three Valleys ski area, VT is the highest ski resort in Europe and part of the biggest linked ski area on the planet. While it's a place for people who, above all else, love to ski, you'll also find some of the country's best après including the legendary Folie Douce, as well as weird and wonderful activities like the 1300m Tyrolienne zip wire. Olde worlde gallic charm it isn't, but skiers will wake up to find some of the best snow in the Alps on their doorstep, and the views over the...
At the summit of the largest ski area in the world and bordering the Vanoise National Park, this is a spectacular place to ski and board. Beginners are well catered for on nursery slopes by the Rond Point des Pistes, where the magic carpets often don't require a lift pass. Kids will love the Junior Park, while the Musaraigne and Campagnols runs in the beginner's area and the new Deux Combes green are perfect to practice on. With a bit more confidence, take the Pionniers or Plein Sud chairs for some cruisy lon...
The après ski here easily rivals other top resorts in the Alps. If you haven't already had the Folie Douce experience, head just under the Plein Sud lift where the "dancefloor on top of the world" is heaving from 3 pm. Another place to party is Bar 360 at the end of the blue Moraine run, which always has live music and cheaper drinks. Back in town, Rue de Gebroulaz is a hub of lively bars where O'Connells is the local Irish pub. The Frog and Roastbeef is a long-time favourite of Brits. L'Eclipse on Galerie Caro...

"Tikal Apts family holiday"

We had an apartment next to my parents who came with us, our apartment was fine but theirs was really quite dated and seemed a lot smaller (you’d think neighbouring apartments would be similar). You couldn’t swing a cat in their second bedroom, which was literally bunk beds and then room for one bag. In the write up, it said the apartments had a pool, but when we asked at reception they said that the pool was over in the other hotel across the road. Not SNO’s fault, but the suppliers (we also had trouble with the rep when we bought ski passes). The location was good and any level could ski to the door (my daughter hadn’t skied before and she was fine). We self catered, the kitchen was small as they normally are in these apartments and there wasn’t much storage to put food in as the 3 cupboards were taken over by plates and glasses.
