Overview: apartment description: Residence La Daille description

Want the same world-class skiing as Val d’Isère, but without splashing the cash? Take a look at these great-value apartments in the linked hamlet of La Daille. With the speedy Funival funicular opposite, you’ll be up the mountain in moments, and to venture further afield in the evenings, just hop on the free ski bus that stops outside.

Inside, there’s a fresh, modern feel in the apartments. Plain, white walls keep things bright and inviting while colourful cushions and art prints add pops of colour. There’s a mini-market right in the building too, so you don’t have far to go to pick up the essentials. And to start each day in true French fashion, don’t miss the bakery delivery service and enjoy warm pastries for breakfast.

Nothing beats a little pampering at the end of the ski day, so pop over to use the spa facilities in the neighbouring Hotel Samovar – you’ll just need to pay a small charge at the reception first.

This package holiday to Residence La Daille in Val d'Isere, France departs Saturday 17th January 2026, for a 7 night stay on a "self catering" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

Small, but comfortable and very clean – good! It had everything we needed. The transfers and travel all went smoothly so it was a really good trip. 5/5 holiday! We did get stuck in Tignes one night and had a long and expensive taxi ride back, we could have skied back but it was a really snowy day and we weren’t confident to ski all the way back. But otherwise all great. We were self-catered and it was easy to get food. The location was really good, it was not quite ski in/ski out, but very nearly! Really good location for the skiing. Also I’d say the bus service to Val d’Isere is really good and really frequent, so I’d say people should definitely hop into Val d’Isere main town.
