Overview: apartment description: Résidence Club MMV Le Hameau des Airelles description

The Hameau des Airelles apartments take up an enviable position at the foot of the slopes, close to the Chalvet cable car and the centre of the resort.

The apartments are bright, modern and stylish spaces. Large windows make the most of natural light, great views come as standard from the balconies and terraces, and the tiled floors and wooden furniture give them that cosy, alpine chic. Self catering is easy thanks to the well-equipped kitchenettes, which even have an oven and dishwasher. Though your central location means you might be tempted to let someone else do the cooking and head out to eat on an evening.

The complex has a brilliant connected indoor and outdoor pool, perfect for a relaxing dip under the stars. There’s also the Ô Pure Spa, which you'll get one free visit to during your stay. It's got a hot tub, sauna and Hammam, and there are massages and treatments available too. In the evening, you can unwind in front of the fire in the cosy lounge, or just stay in and watch a DVD. There’s a good mix of apartment types to suit any group or family, as well as handy touches like ski lockers, a laundry service and free WiFi.

"Family Christmas @ Le Hameau des Airelles"

The Ball Family, Bath
4/ out of 5
We’ve stayed in the apartments before, our apartment this time wasn’t as good as the last one (we got upgraded, it was a lot bigger) but it was in good condition, nice and clean and tidy. Our main problem was that we couldn’t fit our youngest child’s travel cot in the bunk room, so ended up having to move the furniture around to have her in our room. They provided the travel cot for us and will also provide bedding and a high chair if needed. The bedrooms weren’t tiny but they didn’t have much storage space. The combination microwave-grill-oven wasn’t the best in the world and it was tricky to cook dinner if you needed the microwave as well as oven, but we did manage to cook Christmas dinner so it is all feasible. In terms of getting food, there’s one shop a minute's walk away that sells most of the stuff you need (at average prices for the mountains) and there are another 2 supermarkets a bit further down, with the nearer of the two doing a 'special' each night such as a rotisserie. The location is good if you have children: to get to ski school you either jump on a bus just outside the hotel for a free transfer down to the main hub, or you walk it in about 5 minutes. ESF also have a nursery ski slope just around the corner, about a minute’s walk away. There are some good runs round the back of the hotel so you can ski to the door if there’s enough snow. The swimming pool is open every evening – a little cold but it’s alright for a quick dunk. There are also saunas, steam rooms etc which are easy to access.
