Self-cater on your ski trip to Tignes at the L’Altaviva Apartments – a piste-side pick that comes loaded with extras, from spa facilities to a kids’ club for the little ‘uns. Head inside, and the apartments have that classic mountain feel, with a mix of pine panelling and stone tiles, and some have a fireplace to amp up the cosy winter vibes.

Make the most of the bakery delivery service and munch on pastries to start the day in true French fashion. And once in evening rolls around, you can rustle something up in your kitchenette or skip the dishes and wander down to the restaurant for a bite to eat on the south-facing terrace.

As for the extras, you can loosen up the ski legs with a few laps in the heated outdoor pool. Then sticking with the relaxing theme, book a slot at the adults-only spa, for a hot tub soak or spell in the sauna and steam room – it's free before 4pm. And for youngsters, there are free clubs, where they can get stuck into indoor and outdoor games and activities. Or borrow some board games from reception for some family fun together instead.

All apartments have a kitchenette with hobs, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker and fridge, as well as limited WiFi, flatscreen TV and hairdryer. Bed linen, beds made on arrival, towels and end-of-stay cleaning (except kitchen) are included.

When you arrive, you’ll need to pay a deposit of approx. €400 by card for each apartment on your booking.
