We were looked after in five star style by Rheanna. Nothing was too much trouble. The chalet was well appointed with the exception of the promise of a play station (as advertised) - a treat our children don't have at home. We couldn't play DVDs on it effectively and it definitely spoilt our evening entertainmen... + more

Location: where is Petit Choucas

Set back off the high street in the very centre of resort and only a few minutes walk from the Solaise bubble and nursery slopes. Ski hire is provided by Killy Sport which is just a 5 minute walk from the chalet.

Overview: chalet description: Petit Choucas description

An intimate chalet-apartment in the very heart of Val d'Isere, nicely set back from the high street and completely secluded.

The decor is contemporary Alpine style: sleek, chic and elegantly restrained, yet still wonderfully warm and inviting against the chill of mountains in mid winter.

The apartment enjoys a small terrace with views to the Fornet. It is rather unique to have a property of this quality for groups as small as four.

Petit Choucas is ideal for families and small groups of 4 - 6. There's a choice of a Double room with en suite bath or a Twin room with en suite shower. There's also bunk beds charged at half of the adult price.

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our catered ski holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate

  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update Petit Choucas's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...

Wonderful chalet - very comfortable, clean and intimate. Perfectly situated in the resort. Our chalet host was very friendly and lovely with the children. The food was very tasty and the kids enjoyed theirs too. Our nanny was caring and kind and kept the children entertained. She also prepared some great meals and made endless trips to and from the slopes always with a smile......

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the petit Choucas. Our chalet host Rihanna, was always friendly and pleasant and made us feel at home. My husband had some work from his office and he really appreciated the accommodation the staff had extended to him by scanning and faxing several documents and also letting him use their office for a conference call. A big thanks to the staff for taking such good care of us! We'll be back!

"Fabulous Holiday"

We had a fabulous holiday here in Val d'Isere. The chalet was lovely, cosy, very clean and well kept. Rheanna was the perfect chalet host. The food she prepared was fantastic. Billie was a great nanny to our two children, we felt very comfortable going off skiing leaving them in her charge when they weren't at ski school. She kept them interested with numerous activities including a visit to the farm, soft play, bum boarding, play dates, ice-skating and many creative activities including painting, sticking and glueing! Oxygen ski school was amazing for both children, they both improved massively during the course of the week. Thanks to Pamela and Leon for their efforts in bringing them both on! We also had some great ski coaching from Ben at TDC who we would really recommend. He showed us all over the mountain as well as giving us technical tips for much needed improvement! Overall we all had a great holiday, would recommend and are looking forward to another trip next year!

"Looked after in five star style"

We were looked after in five star style by Rheanna. Nothing was too much trouble. The chalet was well appointed with the exception of the promise of a play station (as advertised) - a treat our children don't have at home. We couldn't play DVDs on it effectively and it definitely spoilt our evening entertainment in the chalet. That said, everything else that the company were responsible for was excellent and the staff were very friendly and approachable. In particular, Rheanna, Jo and Tasha (the nanny) made our holiday (our first family skiing holiday) a huge success. The only thing that took the shine off the holiday for us was the fact that the location of the property felt a bit too far from the slopes when you have ski equipment for a whole family to carry up there. A shuttle service to the slopes probably would have made the holiday a five star experience and this would be the reason for not coming back to this chalet. With thanks. The Grimsey Family
