· 3 minutes' walk to the resort centre · 2 minutes' walk to the St Johann gondola, Schneewinkel ski bus stop, nursery slopes and ski school meeting point
A great-value stay, run by friendly locals – the Pension Mair’s what Austrian guesthouses are all about. The location’s spot on too. The centre of the village is just a few steps away, and it’s a 2-minute walk to the main gondola, nursery slopes and ski school.
The place has typical Tyrolean looks, with white-washed walls, wood cladding and bright green shutters. Inside, things are simple but homely, and the cosy bedrooms are a comfy place to lay your head – you’ll even get a balcony too. As for food, there’s a hot and cold buffet breakfast served at the nearby Hotel Park to set you up for the day. And for some extra simplicity in the evenings, you can upgrade to half board to get your evening meals here as well. Or stick with bed and breakfast and sample some of St Johann’s excellent restaurants.
There aren’t any extra facilities at the guesthouse itself. But with free use of the spa in the Hotel Park and free entry to the public pool included, you’ll still want to pack your swim things.
