A legendary resort at the heart of the Oisans valley and the mountains of the Écrins, Les Deux Alpes is home to the largest glacier in Europe and 300 days of sun a year. Aside from the 220 km of pistes available to explore in one of the largest ski areas in France, Les Deux Alpes also offers a vast choice of other activities. The hotel is situated just some 5 minutes on foot from the slopes and is around an hours' drive from Grenoble. This superb traditional wooden chalet-hotel is south facing with a panoramic terrace overlooking the glaciers of the Écrins National Park. The hotel welcomes guests in its lobby at its 24-hour reception which also offers a hotel safe. Lift access is provided, and younger guests will appreciate the children's playground and kids' club. Food and drink are served at the bar and restaurant. Guests can stay connected thanks to the WLAN Internet access provided. Room service is offered and vehicles can be left in the car park. The en suite rooms include a shower, bath and hairdryer. A telephone and satellite/cable TV also features, as does Internet access and a safe. Guests can make use of their room's fridge and washing machine, as well as relaxing on their balcony or terrace. The hotel offers a covered gym complex in addition to two swimming pools, one of which is heated and indoor. Guests can also relax in the sauna or on the sun loungers provided. Massage treatments are available and for an additional fee guests can enjoy a spa treatment.

There are plenty of beginner slopes on the front face with runs like les Vikings and Les Gentianes for those learning to ski. The great thing about Les Deux Alpes is that there are some terrific beginner slopes higher up the mountain so new skiers can experience the benefits of skiing at altitude. The Cretes area at 2100m is the favourite spot for ski schools, with the ski escalator a welcome aid to those learning to ski. You don’t have to look far to find good après in Les Deux Alpes. One of the best bars in resort is Pano bar, this slopeside restaurant, based at 2,600m comes alive at happy hour between 3 pm and 5 pm every day with discounted drinks and a DJ set that will vibrate through your whole body. At the bottom of the piste, Umbrella bar is a great place to keep the party going.
