Overview: hotel description: Les Cimes du Soleil description

This is what hotels in Avoriaz are all about. A ski-in, ski-out stay packed with mountain charm, from the weathered, timber shingles on the outside to the stylish bedrooms, with their fluffy throws and ski-inspired artwork wall art.

The facilities are fab, too. After a day on the slopes, head to the bar and swap ski stories with the gang, then take your drink out onto the panoramic sun terrace to soak up the snowy scenery. Staying with the family? Make the most of the hotel-run childcare and enjoy a relaxing session in the sauna while the littles ones have fun with crafts and games.

And when it’s time to eat, dig into a buffet spread that'll tick all the boxes, from a quick coffee and croissant to a cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. Refuel with some homemade dishes when lunch rolls around, and for your evening meal, fill up on everything from pizza and pasta to grilled meats and fish – and with all-inclusive drinks from the bar, you won't be racking up a bar tab. You can also book a table in the Le Cèdre Rouge restaurant to try Savoyard classics, like fondue and raclette. Plus, from Sunday to Friday there's a food truck out on the terrace where you can grab a juicy burger for a mid-ski snack.

Established in the 1960s as the brainchild of Olympic champion skier Jean Vuarnet, Avoriaz is a purpose build resort with tonnes of character. The wood-clad buildings have a striking appearance that set it apart from other destinations. Even more impressive is the 360° panorama of the Alps. Avoriaz is brilliantly located right in the centre of the Portes du Soleil ski area. Completely ski-in ski-out, a holiday in Avoriaz means you don't have to lug your equipment around and you can maximise time on the slopes...
Avoriaz is one of our favourite resorts to bring the family - thanks to a huge and central children's village, complete with a specialised snowboarding area, children can learn to ski and ride in a fun and safe environment. Avoriaz is one of the only resorts that has a Beginner Pass, letting you find your feet on easy terrain via 14 lifts without the expense of a full lift pass. Beginners-only piste Première Glisse gives you the chance to improve at your own pace, while Proclou and Q'monts are easy blues for cr...
Avoriaz has worked hard on it's apres game in the last few years, with the addition of a well-known apres go to 'La Folie Douce' for winter 2018. It has an array of restaurants, bars and off-slope activities that contribute to a lively après ski scene. Le Tavallion is an English themed pub for a home-from-home atmosphere, Shooters is good for party-lovers while Le Yak tends to be the venue of choice for late-night clubbing. Featured in the Michelin Gourmet plate guide, La Reserve is a place to fine-dine in st...

"Its Great!"

Benjamin

It was great, for kids in there in teens it’s a great hotel, I’m only away with my son. Very social my son made a friends there. Easy ski in/out, good facilities, no pool but had a sauna and a gym. Ski hire shop is in the hotel, which is very easy, just missed a pool. Bar is great, and it’s full board so lunch is provided and all drinks.

We are OBSESSED! Obsessed with absolutely everything about our trip to Avoriaz. The resort, the hotel, the location, everything. We have actually decided that we don’t think any other place will ever top our holiday in January. It was perfect for us. The accommodation was top. The rooms were a little on the small side but they were fine! Ours didn’t have a balcony but it didn't bother us in the slightest. I had expected a mini fridge in the rooms but for an all exclusive hotel, it was probably wishful thinking. The hotel had drinking water faucets in the restaurant that you could use any time and coffee machines in the foyer. It’s a massive hotel and can be hard to get your bearings at the start but we soon got the hang of it! The steps down to the restaurant are a struggle after a days skiing but there is a lift available if you walk on around the floor a bit! Staff were helpful and informative. The food was exceptional. So much variation and something different every night. The lunch was excellent too, plenty of selection and breakfast was the same. We found the earlier we got there the better but they were bringing out more and more food so there was plenty to go around. This hotel was great for access to skiing. Skiing out was good, easy until you got to the main meeting point for the schools as there were pedestrians and sled ridges to contend with but we managed no problem, even with our variable levels of skiing! Skiing in was so simple. If we found ourselves at the main ski lift area, we got the Stade lift up and followed the slope down right to the back door where the ski shop and boot room is. Perfect. This resort and hotel would be a great choice for anyone at all. Families would love it for the kids club activities and the location to the centre of Avoriaz. The all inclusive tag was not lying, most drinks are included too including all soft drinks. The evening entertainment was in french (obvs) but we enjoyed watching the craic. Hot chocolate or hot wine was waiting for us in the bar when we got off the slopes. When talking to Stuart about giving this a mark out of 5, he said 10! That’s how much we loved it.
