Location: where is Chalet La Maison

La Maison is one of the chalets located in Le Village area of Alpe d'Huez, with a truly superb location. Chalet La Maison is ski in ski out, sitting at the apex of two pistes which run alongside the development in this part of the town. From almost every window in the chalet, there are uninterrupted views of the ski slopes, looking out towards the Les Bergers sector of the resort. The lifts and nursery slopes are both right outside of the chalet, so La Maison is the perfect location even if you've never skied before. The town centre is a pleasant 10 minutes' walk away, where you'll find a vibrant resort, with plenty of great bars, restaurants and shopping, plus an outdoor ice rink and swimming pool. If you don't fancy the walk into town, then take the aerial route as the little caged gondola lift can transport you to different parts of the resort.

Overview: chalet description: Chalet La Maison description

Chalet La Maison is the smallest of our five chalets in Le Village, with four bedrooms sleeping up to 8 guests. It's an attractively furnished chalet that is stylishly decorated whilst in keeping with a traditional Alpine stone and timber property. The walls are clad in timber and the ceiling beams are exposed throughout, whilst the soft furnishings and elegant furniture gives a warmth to this property that makes you feel right at home.

The main entrance to the chalet is on the first floor, with a ski room located next to the entrance providing excellent storage for all of your equipment. There are stairs to your right as you enter which lead to the other floors, but if you take a left, you'll enter the lovely open plan living and dining space. The living room is elegant and spacious, with comfortable sofas and a gorgeous fireplace with a lovely stone hearth and timber clad chimney. There is a flat screen television in the corner of the room, so why not sit back and enjoy a good film in front of the roaring fire. At the far end of the living space from the lounge, there is a lovely dining area. With a beautiful solid oak dining table with ample space for all the family. The room is designed with a bench along one-side of the table, which sits parallel with the kitchen. Above the bench there is an open window into the kitchen, creating a sociable atmosphere for those cooking, whilst still keeping the two spaces separate. The kitchen comes fully equipped with an oven, four-ring induction hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine and coffee percolator, so you'll have everything required to rustle up a stunning meal for your friends and family.

There are four bedrooms in total, of which the first is on the ground floor and comes with two single beds (90 x 200cm) and an en-suite shower and WC. All of the bedrooms are spacious and decorated in a style fitting with the rest of the chalet, with a traditional alpine warmth and lovely comfortable beds. There are a two bedrooms located on the second floor, one of which has twin beds (90 x 200cm) and other with a double bed (160 x 200cm); they both have en-suite bathrooms and WC. The fourth bedroom is on the ground floor, with twin beds (90 x 200cm) and an en-suite bathroom and WC. For a little added luxury, you'll find wonderful spa facilities on the ground floor, with a Jacuzzi and sauna which are perfect from which to relax your aching muscles after a tiring but enjoyable day on the ski slopes.

There is free WIFI throughout the chalet, so whether you need to do some work whilst away, or just fancy streaming your favourite show, you'll be well looked after. For those driving to the resort, there is underground covered parking available.

Premium Contactless Catering Service

Your chalet will be ready on arrival - beds made, dinner ready and fridges stocked*, wine-cellars replenished, skis and lift passes all booked. But you won't see us. We'll be at the end of the phone, but there will be no contact, unless you need it. We will visit your chalet mid-week to give it a full clean and change of towels and bed-linen, but this shall be done during the day, whilst you're out on the slopes. You and your family will be safe and looked-after, as we work in the background, providing everything you need.

Our contactless catering service comes with the choice of two pricing options, a fixed menu with food and drink included in the price, and our à la carte option which allows you greater flexibility to eat and drink whatever you desire and the cost of the food is on supplement, at cost price, and depending on what produce you choose to order.

For those looking for a simple packaged chalet price, we are offering an all-inclusive price, which includes rental of the chalet and your food and drink for the week. Included will be breakfast, snacks to take with you skiing, afternoon tea and cakes/snacks, pre-dinner nibbles a three course dinner on 6 out of 7 nights, with a selection of after dinner cheeses, plus champagne for your first night, a kir for before dinner and unlimited wine and some beers. We have prepared a delicious menu for the week, with a mix of ready prepared meals from a local delicatessen and easy to cook dishes or sides. All that will be required from you is to pop a few things in the oven and throw together a few ingredients to make a simple salad, or steam a few vegetables as sides to your main meal.

Perhaps you want the freedom to choose your own menus, or perhaps you'd prefer to eat out more than one evening during the week, or you just love to cook yourself and enjoy the holidays where you have time to do this in a relaxed way. That's where our à la carte contactless catering service comes in. As an alternative to the service detailed above, we will also offer a lower rate, which does not include the food and drink for the week and we will give you the opportunity to order the food and drink of your choice, at the local hypermarket rates, and bill you for this afterwards. Four days before arrival, you will receive a comprehensive provisions list with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. That might be oven-ready meals, or the ingredients you'll need for Bolognaise, Soufflés or Cheese Fondues. Dry goods, dairy, fresh fruit and veg, fresh meat or fish, beers, wines, champagne, whatever, all bought for you and stocked in advance.

Our aim is to provide the safest possible environment for a ski holiday, whilst staying as affordable as possible. The new way to holiday will be by enjoying the facilities, food and beverages but without the staff waiting on you hand and foot. That will keep things safe and affordable. However, for those in search of a little more luxury, we are able to provide drivers, chefs, daily cleaning, ski lessons etc, all of which can be discussed at the time of booking or with our concierge service prior to arrival.

**Please note that for the à la carte option, all food, drink, ski hire and lift passes come at additional costs and are not included in the chalet price. Provisions will be billed at cost price and can be ordered from the list that will be sent out to you, and ski hire and lift passes can be booked in advance with our preferential rates. For our fixed menu option, the price does not include ski hire and lift passes, but it does include breakfast and afternoon tea for 7 days, plus a 3-course dinner with beer and wine for 6 days.

We update Chalet La Maison's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

With a transfer time of around 2 hours, Alpe d'Huez is very accessible from Grenoble or Chambery airport. Established in 1936, it was the first resort in France to be installed with a fully operational ski lift. The resort lies in the Grandes Rousses Massif domain. It is partnered by the smaller mountain villages of Auris-en-Oisans, Villard Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and La Garde, all of which are connected by a free transport system. The slopes are mainly south facing and as a result the area, known as "...
Alpe d’Huez has had sun and snow galore since 1936, and with the culmination of around 20 Million Euros of improvements due to come to fruition for 2021, there is a huge ski area to be explored. With a whopping 52km of greens, this is an excellent place for beginners. The easiest skiing is above the village and Les Bergers. There are plenty of wide-open runs underneath the DMC gondola, many being ‘beginners only’ so you can learn without too much traffic. If you’re feeling confident, try some of the bl...
If you like live music, try the Underground in Vieil Alpe. It combines a pleasant atmosphere with bands playing most nights. Smithy’s has drinks promotions and healthy portions of Tex-Mex food to match. If you can’t bear to miss an important game whilst in France, O’Sharkey’s is the best spot to watch live sports. L’igloo is the place to go if you want to party late into the night. Alpe d’Huez has all of the usual culinary delights you’d expect in the mountains. To sample some traditional French food, ...

We were made to feel at home from the minute we arrived at our beautiful chalet in this wonderful resort. Our chalet hosts, Tamara and Cal couldn't do enough for us throughout our stay and really did go the extra mile for us all. Their cooking skills were of a very high standard and the varied menu kept us all happy for the week. Afternoon tea was also superb each day and has added to the lbs that we will have to shift after Xmas. Our first time in Alpe D'Huez and if Tamara and Cal are still there next year we may very we'll be returning!

We took the whole chalet for a friends ski holiday and were delighted with the accommodation and fantastic location. Lou and Andy were great hosts, both very attentive and friendly ... even joining in with our sing-a-long! Lots of attention to details made the week great, such as tea/coffee in bed as a morning treat. Food was generally good but had a couple of minor issues with main courses and would suggest that it was more of a training issue than the hosts. Menus could perhaps have more flare. The resort is great and the chalet amenities good. Weather was fantastic after a large dump of snow, and everyone had a wonderful time.

Fantastic week in Alpe D'Huez, snow conditions were amazing, fluffy powder on well groomed runs all week with a large ski area to explore Chalet location was incredible, right on the edge of the piste and only a 2 minute walk to the nearest lifts, shops and bars, with the amount of snow on the ground it was definitely ski in ski out. Our chalet hosts made us all feel very welcome and prepared some very good meals during our stay. Jacuzzi and sauna room offered a wonderful way to soothe the aches and pains, kicked off ski boots and headed downstairs to the spa room for a soak. Despite it being the smallest chalet the living space was more than big enough to allow us all to stretch out without feeling cramped and the bedrooms were all big, had loads of storage and good size bathrooms Thoroughly enjoyed the week in Alpe D'Huez
