Overview: hotel description: L'Ecrin des Sybelles description

Prefer the freedom to eat what and when you want? This self-catering pick could be right up your piste. You’ve got a choice of well-equipped apartments for up to eight people – and as an extra perk, each one has a balcony or terrace. And it ticks the box when it comes to location too. You're just strolling distance from the slopes and resort centre, with a ski bus stop metres away if you’re headed further afield.

As for looks, it’s classic alpine from top to bottom – we’re talking lots of natural wood and stone, with old skis and photos of the resort from days gone by hanging on the walls. A proper wood fire burns in the corner of the communal lounge, and you’ve got plenty of squishy armchairs dotted here and there.

Remember to pack your swim things to make the most of the pool and wellness area. You’ll get one free use of the sauna or steam room included, but you can pay a small fee to add more sessions to your stay.

This package holiday to L'Ecrin des Sybelles in La Toussuire, France departs Saturday 7th February 2026, for a 7 night stay on a "self catering" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2024 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

Up on a plateau at 1750m and surrounded by 2000m+ peaks, La Toussuire’s not the biggest name in French skiing, but it’s spot on if you’re looking for a cheap ski holiday that doesn’t scrimp on terrain. Self-catered apartments and 3* hotels make up most of the accommodation – lots housed in chalet style buildings, with high rise Le Corbusier style apartment blocks dotted about (convenience wins over traditional character in this neck of the woods). 55km of local slopes are shared with the smaller resort...
The Front de neige area is beginner territory, with a gaggle of short green and blue runs served by drag lifts. In the blue department, Marmotte is a lovely long, winding descent from Tete de Bellard to La Toussuire that shows off the sheer beauty of the surroundings. The Soleil chair on the other side of the village leads to the Lac and Soleil runs for more scenic skiing in the local area. If you can ski blues comfortably, it’s well worth upgrading to the area pass. Longe Comb’s one of our favourites - a...
If you’d pick dinner and drinks over pitchers and parties any day, the après ski here’s more suited for you – no dancing on table tops or champagne showers here. Le Tonneau’s a good people pleaser, where you can sit and drink beer and wine, watch live sport or tuck into fondue, pizzas or crepes. Grizzly gets packed out pretty fast, and you’ll soon see why when you try the regional dishes here... For a speedy snack, head to Ski K Faim for a sandwich or crepe. On top of skiing and snowboarding, activiti...
