The popular Kronau Chalet Resort is in a peaceful area on the outskirts of Kranjska Gora, around 10 minutes' walk to the nearest ski lifts and village centre. Each chalet has a kitchenette and dining table for nights eating in, but if ever you fancy tasting the local menus, there are lots of great-value restaurants nearby to choose from.
Run by the friendly Dejan Kosir, a former snowboarding World Champion, these chalets are spacious, simple and super comfortable. They have a rustic charm to them – with their steep roofs, wooden beams and cosy sofas – which really welcomes you home after each day out on the slopes. Plus, each chalet has its own terrace, so when you wake up in the mornings you can sip on a coffee while staring up at the majestic Julian Alps.
There's a bus service that stops just outside your block of chalets, making getting to the lifts a real breeze. What's more, there's also a ski locker room at the bottom of the slopes where you can store your equipment, so you don't have to lug your kit back to the apartment at the end of each day.

Endearing architecture joins beautiful lakes, Limestone Mountains and far-ranging rivers here near the meeting of the Italian, Austrian and Slovenian Alps, but Kransjka’s much more than a pretty face. You’ll also find a world championship slalom and one of the world’s first ski jumps to pit yourself against, while terrific tuition and forgiving slopes make this a solid choice for a first time trip with the brood.
