64 km south-east of Kemijärvi, lake Hoikkajärvi 50 m (length 2,8 km, width 500 m), rather deep natural water, soft stony bottom, pier, a rowing boat and two canoes. Beautiful location, in neck of land, between two lakes.Log house, built in 1948, former school building, renovated and adapted for holiday use, last renovation in 2014. The interior walls are mainly old logs.House has large hall, smaller hall, kitchen, 3 bedrooms: 1. bedroom with bunk bed and single bed, 2. bedroom with two bunk beds, 3. bedroom with two beds.Other part of house (own entrance, also connected with main house) has two bedrooms: 1. bedroom with single bed and two bunk beds, 2. bedroom with double bed. Kitchenette (sink, stove, fridge and microwave), sauna (wood stove), bathroom (2 showers), room with fireplace and toilet. Small part of the house has a bedroom with double bed and single bed. Living room and a room with extra bed. In addition house has: baking oven, wood stove, 2 fridge/freezer, 3 air heat pumps, karaoke equipment.Lakeside sauna with steam room and dressing room, electric light, water has to be carried from lake 10 m away. In addition a traditional sauna with steam room and dressing room, electric light. Barbecue hut in the yard. Kinttaanpirtti is suitable also to different kinds of events and occasions.Area offers good fishing and hunting opportunities. 5 pcs net- and lure fishing permits are included in price (more information from owner). Stock of fish: perch, trout, grayling (river Kintasjoki). More rowing boats for hire.Several lean-to and fire places 3-10 km away from cottage. Bird watching tower 5 km, telescopes and binoculars available for rent. Snowmobile trail runs next.Suomutunturi 25 km, Ruka 80 km, Kemijärvi 65 km, Kuusamo 110 km, Posio 50 km.

“Tunturi” is the word describing the treeless mountains that make up some of the ski areas in Finland. There isn’t a massive amount of skiing in the Sallatunturi but this is the beauty of the place as it encourages you to try other activities and enjoy the peace and quiet.
