· 10 minutes’ walk to the centre of the resort · 2-3 minutes’ walk to the Schattberg X-press gondola · 2 minutes' walk to the ski school meeting point
The JUFA Alpenhotel will suit skiers looking for that convenient, half-board stay where good food, comfy rooms and a mix of après options are all key. Surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants, the location is fab – and being only 2-3 minutes’ walk from the nearest lift, starting the ski day is a simple affair.
From the outside, the JUFA has that classic Austrian look – with wraparound balconies, white walls and dainty windows. Moving inside, traditional pinewood panelling and patterned upholstery keep things nice and homely, while the rooms have more of a slick, modern finish to them – a lovely space to call yours for the week. The buffet restaurant puts on a fantastic spread – and if you want to switch it up, you can pay a little extra for a meal at the in-house pizzeria.
When it comes to off-slope time, you can head for some R&R in the wellness area, chill in front of a warm fire in the cosy lounge, or take a drink out to the terrace. Kids are sorted too, with their own soft play area complete with its own climbing wall. Up for more? Saalbach’s nightlife is popping – so go out, explore, and return late if it’s that kind of night.
