Overview: hotel description: Hotel Rosset description

Hotel Rosset is a fantastic choice for keen skiers who are looking for convenient access to this huge ski area. The Tignes' hotel provides an informal and relaxed atmosphere for our British guests. The hotel has a great combination of comfortable accommodation, spacious public areas, an indoor swimming pool and is located in the heart of Tignes le Lac.

Easy access to the Tignes-Val d'Isere ski area

Tucked back from the main road only 100 metres from the Rosset chairlift, access to the variety of slopes is very easy. Ski past this lift down to the Marmottons children’s ski area and the high-speed Tovière Gondola for quick access to the neighbouring resort of Val d’Isère or to the Palafour chairlift on the other side. At the end of the day you can ski back within 100 metres of the hotel, making it nice and easy for you.

All you need for the perfect ski holiday

The Rosset is built in a traditional style, with attractive wood and stone features and a warm ambience throughout. All bedrooms offer en-suite shower or bathrooms and many come with the bonus of a balcony overlooking the lake. Hotel Rosset offers half board which includes breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals with wine included. There's a staff day off midweek when only breakfast is provided leavingyou free to explore and choose a local restaurant in resort for your evening meal.

A chance to relax

There is a swimming pool, sauna and steam room as well as a relaxation area on the lower ground floor of the hotel. On the top floor is the generous lounge and bar, with a wonderful balcony which offers fabulous views across the lake and towards Val Claret and the Grande Motte Glacier. There's plenty of comfy seating here as well as a log fire and we'd recommend making the most of the afternoon tea that is served here.

Why is this a choice property?

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

"Overall, it was a good holiday. "

Susan

Staff were good. We would love to go again, and the organisation of the holiday was well done by SNO. Rooms were slightly tired by the end of the season, few boot and scuff marks in the rooms but lovely Chalet Hotel. Food was perfect and very nice. Ski access was very close, you can walk in a few minutes. The hotel was very tired, end of season and the rooms had been bashed around and needed maintenance. We would stay there again, and we would love to use SNO again.

It was good! To a certain extent you don’t spend a lot of time there, so as long as it’s clean and comfortable that’s the important thing! The staff were good. Location’s OK, I’ve stayed in places closer to the slopes and places further away. This one’s pretty central so I can’t fault it. The food was very good. Overall it worked well, I wouldn’t call it “fit for purpose” as it’s better than that, but it was everything we needed.

"Rosset review"

Karen
5/ out of 5
The chalet hotel was brilliant – staff were absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t fault the Rosset itself, it’s a lovely place. Staying here is good value for money and the food was brilliant. We stayed in most evenings as after the meal they’d have a quiz or something in the bar which was nice. Everything else was a disaster – flight out was delayed and the young, inexperienced resort reps assigned to look after us lied, saying they’d do something then not doing it. We booked and paid for equipment hire in advance via SNO without a problem, but when we got to the ski shop it turned out that the tour operator hadn’t processed the invoice correctly and we had a lot of trouble - our passports were taken, we were chased around the resort for payment when we’d already paid. 5/5 for the chalet experience and Tignes, but 0/5 for the reps and chalet supplier.

"Central, lake views, great for groups"

Jimmy, Sno Staff
5/ out of 5
The great central location and good choice of rooms make the Rosset a brilliant chalet for larger groups looking to experience the best that Tignes has to offer. Rooms with balconies enjoy breath-taking views over the lake, and larger rooms that are capable of sleeping up to four are a great option for families. Despite its size, the Rosset doesn’t lose any of the intimate ambience you’d expect from a chalet - you’ll be sure to make some new friends whilst unwinding in the communal areas at the end of a day on the slopes.
