Everything was fine with the hotel and we would go back here. Regarding the meals all was OK. The location wasn’t the best but a bus comes in the morning to pick you up which wasn’t a problem – I think it came every half an hour. + more

Overview: hotel description: Hotel Relais des Alpes description

A wee stroll from the Clotes chairlift, Hotel Relais des Alpes ticks the box for ski convenience. Plus, if you don’t fancy the 5-minute stroll, you’ve the option of paying a little extra to hop on the ski bus that stops right outside. You can tick off après convenience too – not only is the resort’s centre just around the corner, but you don’t even need to leave the hotel to go to the pub. The Queen’s Lounge is the place for a post-piste pint – you’ve never had a local quite as local as this.

Looks-wise, things are quite traditional here. Tiled floors, wooden fittings and a vintage colour scheme complete the classic Italian aesthetic and up the cosiness tenfold. When you’ve kicked off your ski boots for the day though, true toastiness can be found in the hotel’s spa – there’s an extra charge here, but you’ll get a week’s pass to relaxing in the sauna and hot tub.

It's not all about making a beeline for racking up at the pool table with a pint though. In addition to a warm, welcoming pub, the hotel’s also home to a traditional alpine restaurant. You’ll kick off your mornings here with buffet breakfasts and refuel in the evenings on local delicacies – the hotel’s wines and homemade desserts are especially worth looking out for.

"Hotel was very nice."

It was what you expected. The staff were very friendly and lovely. Great food, too much food, don’t go hungry. Not great access to the skiing, there is a walk the location on map looks close but you’re going round the blocks, the bus is in reliable as the bus stop is one of the last ones and often it is full and it doesn’t bother stop. It’s 15 minute walk in boots and up the hill, for the sporty ones. We enjoyed it but the location is a walk to the nearest lift not that appealing. We booked last minute, if someone can afford I would recommend the ski lockers, it’s a nice walk in normal shoes but not in ski boots. The ski lockers don’t have a lot of space. 4 out of 5 proximity to the lifts drops the rating however it’s very central to the shops.

"Very good hotel, suited to families"

We had a lovely holiday. The hotel was comfortable and the rooms were fairly big (we had a 3 bedded room). It’s not particularly modern, but it’s sufficiently well maintained and it’s certainly clean. There was a little bit of noise from the square outside, but it wasn’t intrusive. The catering was good, not amazing but good, and it was plentiful. It tended to be buffet style with plenty of veggie and non-veggie choices. It lent itself well to families. You could keep your ski gear in the ski room downstairs. It was a bit of a trek to get to the gondola, you could either take the bus or go by foot. We took the bus, which was usually packed but we could always get on. Some of the other customers chose to pay for a locker at the lifts, making it an easy 5 minute walk or an easier bus ride without the gear. This was the only significant thing to note about the hotel. The staff were very helpful. There was always someone at reception. At the hotel there were lots of families with children of varying ages, so I would recommend it to families. For this reason it might not be suited to couples, particularly if you didn’t want to have children around. It worked for us, I travelled with my sons (teenage/20 years), and my boys were perfectly happy with the hotel. We went down and watched the football on the TV in the bar, that was nice for them.
