· in its own mini village · central location · 1 minute's walk to the ski bus stop · 8-10 minutes' walk to the Penken gondola · ski school meeting point at the top of the Penken gondola
A little slice of Mayrhofen’s history, the Neuhaus dates right back to 1649 when it was an inn with a farm, and even doubled as the local post office. It later became a guesthouse, and the original lettering’s still above the entrance. The farm’s still there too, and you’ll find its produce served up at breakfast and dinner – you can’t get fresher than that. You'll be staying in the St Josef wing, one of the newest at the hotel, but with frescoed walls and painted shutters, it fits right in with the other buildings.
The hotel’s centrally located, and not far from the Penken gondola, so getting out on the slopes every day is easy. And it’s got some top-notch facilities too. Take the underground walkway to the main building and head to the spa to relax in the sauna. Grab a drink in the Movie Bar and enjoy the live music, or take the kids to the play area, games room or bowling alley.
Start each day with a buffet spread and take your pick from freshly baked bread, milk, cheese and yoghurt from the farm, muesli, sausages and even eggs cooked to order. Then when dinner time rolls around, it’s all about locally-sourced ingredients and hearty regional dishes – just the thing after a day on the mountain.
