This family-run hotel is all about friendly service. The location is on point, too. You're only a few steps from the green and blue slopes, the Medaille d'Or and Ravière chairlifts, the ski school meeting spot, and the nursery slopes. Plus, you’ve got all the fun in the resort centre five minutes down the road.

After swooshing down the mountain, you can unwind in the wellness area. With its indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room and a hot tub, it’ll leave your ski muscles feeling brand new. Or if the bar is more your scene, park yourself by the cosy fireplace with a tipple in hand. As for food, you'll start your day with a hot and cold breakfast buffet. Then in the evenings, tuck into a 3-course set menu – with themed nights each week, where you’ll savour cheesy alpine faves like raclette and fondue.

With its traditional French vibe and family-run feel, Les Soldanelles is the perfect base, just steps from all the action. You get everything you need for a tip-top ski adventure – paired with that personal touch.

Up on a plateau at 1750m and surrounded by 2000m+ peaks, La Toussuire’s not the biggest name in French skiing, but it’s spot on if you’re looking for a cheap ski holiday that doesn’t scrimp on terrain. The Front de neige area is beginner territory, with a gaggle of short green and blue runs served by drag lifts. If you’d pick dinner and drinks over pitchers and parties any day, the après ski here’s more suited for you – no dancing on table tops or champagne showers here. Le Tonneau’s a good people pleaser, where you can sit and drink beer and wine, watch live sport or tuck into fondue, pizzas or crepes.
