Overview: hotel description: Hotel Les Grangettes description

The Hotel Grangettes is a lively ski hotel with a great location in Méribel, the Chaudanne ski lift is just across the road giving you access to the fantastic Three Valleys Ski Area. The hotel, including the restaurant and Jacks Après Ski Bar, is run by European Pubs, a company with 15 years’ experience in the ski hospitality industry, successfully operating restaurants and bars across the French Alps.

Lively Après

After a day of exploring the Three Valleys there's no better place to be in town than Jacks Après Ski Bar, formally the Mèribar which is just below the hotel. Après ski with live music starts in the late afternoon and runs until 7:30-8pm, when the venue opens to serve delicious restaurant evening meals. Throughout the day soak up the winter sun on terrace and enjoy the village atmosphere. If you are looking for somewhere for lunch in the resort, food is served throughout the day.

Great location

This lively hotel has one of the best locations in Méribel, perfectly located just across the street from the main Chaudanne ski lifts and ski school meeting point. For the keen skiers and boarders, getting first lifts is really easy assuming you haven’t spent too long in the après bar the night before. The atmospheric heart of Méribel’s main centre with a variety of shops, bars andrestaurants is right on your doorstep.

Home comforts

The Grangettes is a welcoming and vibrant hotel which is ideal for friends and families who want to be able to access this great ski area easily and return to chill in the lounge area or a bit of après.

The hotel is on a half board basis, which includes breakfast and a three course evening meal six days a week. Dinner is served in the hotel dining room for Grangettes guests only. You can also swap your evening meal for a 20 Euro credit to spend in the Jack's restaurant which must be used on the same day of the swap.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...

The chalet hotel was OK, it wasn’t brilliant. I’d say the accommodation was 2/3 star at a push, but then I knew it wasn’t 5 star when I booked it and it was priced accordingly. The rooms were tired and the beds were very worn out. I complained about my mattress which felt like it had been slept on for the past 20 years but the hotel was full so they couldn’t do anything about it. My mates bed was the same. I think if the mattress had been OK I could have overlooked the old carpet. The dining room was quite cramped and noisy. They definitely need to spend a bit of money and tidy it up, because other than these things the place is excellent. The food was tasty, the staff were really nice and you couldn’t ask for a better location – you could basically hit a golf ball to the main lift area.

"Great position, spoiled by loud family"

Position-wise, the chalet was great, only about 2 minutes to the nearest lift and confident skiers could ski back. Excluding one big family who stayed here the same week as us, the chalet was good, but the amount of noise this family made was horrendous! They placed people with kids in the rooms near the games area and we didn’t mind noise until 11 but every night until 2am this big family group were drinking, dancing and being really loud. We weren’t the only people who made a complaint to the manager but they said nothing could be done about it.
