Overview: hotel description: Hotel Les Brévières, Tignes Les Brévières description

Hotel Les Brévières is a great-value pick in Tignes, and it’s just 5 minutes’ walk from the lifts, so you'll be carving down the slopes in no time. When you get back, it’s all about relaxing in the spa or catching up with friends in the bar. And it's a favourite with families too so kids can get stuck into games and activities in the free clubs.

The rooms have a modern alpine look with wooden furniture, white walls and black-and-white photos of the mountains to get you in the mood for the ski day.

Food’s a highlight too. There are big buffet spreads for each meal – not to mention wine included in the evenings – as well as weekly fondue or raclette. And you can also go all-out by upgrading to full board or all-inclusive to get lunch and drinks included too.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

"Food was great !"

Simon
4/ out of 5
The hotel was alright but the food was good. The décor is a little bit tired. The only problem we had, was my daughter had lessons booked with Oxygene up at 2100. So we had to be there at 09:00 and had to get the 08:00 free shuttle resort bus. Breakfast started at 08:00, so we had to ask the hotel to put on an early breakfast for us, which they did in the end. Other than that, which felt rushed, everything else was good really. The staff were great too, it was all good overall. The food was really good and it was buffet style. There was epic amounts of food, loads of choice and the food was really tasty! They even had a raclette night, which was really cool. They also served free wine in the evenings too with the meals. Because my daughter had lessons for 5 days (in 2100), we had to catch the free bus every morning. We skied down once back to the hotel, but it was a bit icy, so we only did that once and ended up catching the bus back the other days.

Hotel and staff were brilliant. Is it more suited for French people. But that’s not a problem as the staff speak English. Food was excellent as you could make your lunch from the breakfast buffet and take it with. Which was easier than coming back for lunch each time. Staff allowed us to take wine after we had finished dinner. Option to pay 10 euros to upgrade one night to a fondue. Which was amazing! Getting to the lift was ok. 5 minute walk to the slopes/lift. They had lockers there so you didn’t have to carry your skis back. Walking on icy road could be tricky. Chambery airport was great. Easy to get in and out of. Brevieres now has an evening bus service to link up to Le Lac/Val Claret, which was handy!
