Brilliant hotel, very friendly people and comfortable rooms! The food was good, you could have as much of the starters as you wanted and then you had 3 choices on the menu for mains so everyone was happy – it was really nice not having to find somewhere to eat every evening! Overview: hotel description: Hotel Lebzelter description

The Hotel Lebzelter is a historic hotel that dates all the way back to the 15th Century - but don't worry, the amenities are fully modern due to a tasteful restoration. You can feel the history as you walk through the hotel past the wooden clad walls and ceilings - it's very calming.

It offers great value for money, a great location (right in the colourful pedestrianised centre of Zell and 200m from the City Express gondola) and it has a very popular après-ski bar (known as a Stüberl in Austria). It's the perfect place for a rejuvenating beer at the end of the day.

A relaxing session in the sauna and steam room may be just what you need after a full day on the mountain. You can also relax in the small lounge and watch a little TV, or use the free Wi-Fi to catch up on news from the outside world.

The 50 rooms in this historic hotel have been tastefully refurbished but retain plenty of character with great details and loads of natural light. Some of the rooms can take an extra bed while some have a bath, but all of them come with cable TV, telephone, hairdryer and mini-safe. Simple and perfect.

Meals: Hotel Lebzelter food & drink

The half board at Hotel Lebzelter gives you a buffet breakfast and a four-course evening meal which comes with a choice of main and a salad buffet to make sure you're not missing out on those all-important veggies. Your Christmas and New Year meals are included too.

With its gorgeous lakeside location and buildings harking back to the Middle Ages, Zell am See brilliantly balances traditional charm with modern efficiency. The town is easily accessible from anywhere in Europe - it's only an hour from Salzburg by train which takes you to the station right in Zell's centre. The drive is only half an hour longer, making it perfect for last-minute breaks and long weekends. With chic hotels and boutique-lined promenades, the pedestrianised town centre is incredibly family-frien...
Skiing the Schmitten mountain above the town puts you on some of the most scenic pistes in the world, with stonking sights of the lake and Salzburg peaks. Three-quarters of the slopes suit beginners and intermediates, and there’s more easy cruising on Kaprun’s Maiskogel mountain (a bus ride away). Schmitten doesn’t forget experts, with endurance testers and adrenaline spikers thrown in - the long, black Trassabfahrt is said to be one of the most challenging in the country. Besides panoramas and peaks, the ...
With plenty of opportunity for a quick bite or drink on the mountain, the après ski gets going long before the last skiers leave the slopes. The Pinzgauer Hut is a hidden gem on the mountain, serving delicious local fare and offers a complimentary snowmobile service to return you to town. At the top of the Schmittenhohe, you can dance the afternoon away at the Schnaps-Hans bar, before making your way down to the town to carry on the party. The Cabrio is often the next port of call, where you can watch the fo...

Brilliant hotel, very friendly people and comfortable rooms! The food was good, you could have as much of the starters as you wanted and then you had 3 choices on the menu for mains so everyone was happy – it was really nice not having to find somewhere to eat every evening! It’s pretty much in the town which was good as well as really near the slopes to get to the lifts. Zell am See is a brilliant resort, we could have had a bit more snow but overall the skiing is great.

The food was fantastic, always with lots of variety – excellent breakfasts and a really good salad bar in the evenings. The location is right in the middle of town, just a short walk to the lifts. We stayed here as a group and I’d definitely recommend it to others.
