Overview: hotel description: Hotel Le Paquis description

This friendly and traditional hotel is less that a minute's walk from the piste. It's beautifully decorated in wood and stone, giving it a warm chalet style atmosphere. The hotel is on a bed and breakfast basis and there is a good choice of local restaurants within an easy walking distance.

The Paquis is one of our guests’ most requested hotels and offers excellent value. It is an ideal choice for both families and couples being so close to the ski runs.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

"Definitely go there again"

Stephen Morris, Jersey
4/ out of 5
Our stay here was very good, it’s a nice hotel, not a plush place but a nice little chalet style hotel, and I’d definitely go there again. It has a great location, very near the lifts and right next to the end of the run. The best ski hire shop in the resort is next door. I can’t remember what it’s called but the shop is run by a father and son and it’s a local one rather than one of the big brands. You come out the hotel, go out the door, turn right and take the little turn onto the pedestrian precinct. Walk about 20 metres past the little pub and bakery and it’s on your right hand side. Without asking, the guy gave us brand new equipment and 40 odd euros off the price, which compared to the deals we were offered on the coach was about 80-90 euros cheaper. There are mixed reviews on Trip Advisor which made me a bit doubtful but the food is fine, you get what you pay for and the staff are nice people. The only downside is our rooms were in the basement area but they were clean enough and we were there for the skiing. You’re literally behind the most popular pub at the end of the run, off the back end of the busy strip (we had no problem with noise though).
