It won’t take you long to find out what makes the Le Mottaret so special. From the friendly, helpful staff to the smart TVs in each room, this place has a long list of highlights. And getting going each morning is easy-peasy too – you’re right on a green run, and the main lifts in the centre of Mottaret are a speedy slide away.

The hotel’s got mountain looks inside and out, with wooden balconies, chunky stone walls, and an open fireplace in the lounge. Speaking of, the lounge also has some clever touches to make it a great place to unwind. The tables have board games inlaid in them, and there are plenty of cosy sofas if you just want to get comfy with a book. Love a little après? There’s always a lively atmosphere at the bar, especially on sunny afternoons.

Foodwise, it’s simple, filling fare. There are plenty of tasty goodies to start you off at breakfast, like freshly made crêpes and waffles. Evening meals are served buffet-style, with a spread that changes daily, so you can tuck into something different each day, from soups and salads to trays of tartiflette. Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area.
