Hotel was okay, not great not bad – same for the service. At times they were trying to kick us (group of 40) out of the bar before closing time. Buffet served food was a decent enough for the group. Not bad ski access, had to walk across the road to access the piste – not true ski in / ski out. + more

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

Food wasn’t too bad, food service changed, breakfast was limited, very good hotel ticked all the boxes. Hotel was as expected had a nice bar upstairs. The reps were superb so friendly, we hadn't skied Tignes before, they were really great with helping us get to the right location. Reception was helpful as well, easy access to the boot room, a comfortable easy hotel. Location was brilliant, not quite ski in ski out but lifts are only 100m away, if you fancied heading to the other valley a bus stop is outside. Val Claret was fun, had some great restaurants and bars, really enjoyed Coco Ricos.

"Very well placed"

Hotel was really really good. Great to be in Val Claret and close to Cocoricos and the skiing at that end. Everyone was really helpful, staff-wise. Sorted things out very promptly. Handled the big group very well. Very nice food. Excellent soup in particular. Very convenient. Ski shop was next door so was very quick and easy getting on the slopes. Worth a trip to the Folie Douce. Incredible amount of skiing in the area
