Very nice, rooms very nice. We had fun as a group. Staff were great to all of us. The food was okay, hit and miss. Food was getting worse as the week went on. Pasta was bad. Pistes really easy to get to , so it was superb. The lifts weren’t the greatest, but it was great skiing. Lots of children – was not h... + more

Location: where is Hotel L'Oree des Pistes

Hotel L’Oree des Pistes is perfectly located in the town square with great access to the slopes and less than a minute’s walk to the Jandri lift and ski school. For those wanting to sample the fantastic après ski that Les Deux Alpes offers, it’s a short walk to the resort’s lively bars and wide variety of restaurants.

Enjoying a prime location this hotel is hard to beat for couples and families, offering easy access to both the pistes and also all the après-ski on offer in this lively resort. The resort outdoor pool and ice skating rink are also within easy reach, located just behind the hotel and are free for use with your ski lift pass. To relax after a day skiing, there is a bar serving snacks with a large sun terrace overlooking the piste. Hotel L’Oree des Pistes has a ski hire shop on the ground floor with ski lockers available. Free WiFi is available in the hotel reception area. There is a kids club available with English speaking carers which is open during the high season during afternoons and evenings for children aged between 4 and 10 years of age Buffet breakfasts are available each morning. Four course evening meals are served in the main hotel restaurant which has panoramic views over the mountains. Wine is also included with your evening meal. For those travelling over the festive period Christmas and New Year gala dinners are included.

Grenoble is the closest airport with a transfer time of just under 2 hours, making the resort accessible by road. The resort was first used for skiing as early as 1925 when the first ski tow was built. The “Les Deux Alpes”, as we know it today, was established in 1946. It is commonly assumed that the name is derived from the two mountains on either side of the town when in reality the name stems from the two villages on either side of the settlement: Mont De Lans and Venosc. There are plenty of beginner slopes on the front face with runs like les Vikings and Les Gentianes for those learning to ski. The great thing about Les Deux Alpes is that there are some terrific beginner slopes higher up the mountain so new skiers can experience the benefits of skiing at altitude. The Cretes area at 2100m is the favourite spot for ski schools, with the ski escalator a welcome aid to those learning to ski. The run home at the end of the day used to have a fearsome reputation for being overcrowded...
You don’t have to look far to find good après in Les Deux Alpes. One of the best bars in resort is Pano bar, this slopeside restaurant, based at 2,600m comes alive at happy hour between 3 pm and 5 pm every day with discounted drinks and a DJ set that will vibrate through your whole body. At the bottom of the piste, Umbrella bar is a great place to keep the party going. If you want to take the night further then Smithy’s is the place to go, with great modern music as well as live entertainment on several night...
