Family run, eco-conscious, contemporary design and right in the middle of Iso-Syöte, Hotel Kide ticks a lot of boxes. Being in the resort centre certainly has its perks too – in under a minute you can find yourself at the ski lifts, ski school, nursery slopes, shops and bus stop. It’s good news for any non-skiers too, since there are also plenty of scenic trails through the Syöte National Park right on your doorstep.
The rooms have that Scandi fee, with lots of natural wood and a monochrome colour scheme. You’ll get your own balcony when you come to stay as well, so you can step out in the mornings and have a gander at the slopes or Lake Luppovesi. There’s also a kitchenette, which has everything you need for whipping up some tasty meals when you’re back each evening.
If you’d prefer to let someone else take care of the cooking, you’ve the option upgrade to half board. Bistoria, the hotel restaurant, is serving up local delicacies and some Italian favourites with a Finnish twist. Before you dine though, be sure to have a taste of après the Finnish way – there are two saunas in the hotel, as well as a lounge, where you can get cosy with a glass of glogi, that’s Finnish mulled wine, by the fire.

All studios have a kitchenette with an oven, two hobs, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, toaster, kettle and coffee maker, plus a flatscreen TV, free WiFi, safe, hairdryer, ski locker and clothes drying cupboard.
Type B studio (26m²) – sleeps 1-3 (max 2 adults and 1 child up to 12 years): twin bedroom, extra single bed, bathroom with shower and WC, and balcony.
Family room (26m² x 2) – sleeps 4-6 (max 4 adults or 4 adults and 2 children up to 12 years): two interconnecting type B studios, each with a twin bedroom, extra single bed, bathroom with shower and WC, and balcony.

Surrounded by the stunning Syöte natural park with frozen lakes, snow-covered pines and activities like reindeer sleigh rides, this is a super place to ski if you want to a real winter wonderland experience. Iso Syöte is Finland’s southernmost fell and with the Syotekeskus and Iso Syote Fell ski areas joined in recent years, you can enjoy around 20km of highly acclaimed skiing.
