Overview: hotel description: Hotel Iceberg description

When you head out to the lifts first thing each morning, Hotel Iceberg’s just a short mosey away - within a few minutes you can be at the gondola, off to explore the Yastrebets ski area. Then, if you’re craving some variety and happy to walk a bit further, you can reach the Sitnyakovo area via the Matinovi Baraki and Sitnyakovo express chairlifts. Iceberg’s close to the centre too, so a wander to explore the town’s bars and shops is definitely on the table.

When you’ve finished on the mountain for the day, Iceberg has a couple of ways for you to relax. If getting together to swap ski stories over a drink’s your style, the hotel bar awaits, but for a more mellow après experience, the pool might be the place. The hotel’s also got a fitness room, if the day’s skiing wasn’t enough of a workout.

Breakfasts kick the day off with a hot and cold buffet, so you can sample some continental style meats and cheeses or fill up on some hearty sausage and eggs. You’ve the option of upgrading to half board here, which means 3-course evening meals when you return each evening too.

Young skiers will love Borokids Park, where the magic carpet helps them get to grips with the snow. Ski lessons can be booked with one of the local ski schools like Hunters and Yanakiev and the Sitnyakovo Royal Residence Ski Way’s wide, gentle slope for some cruisey confidence building. Each of the 3 ski areas offers intermediates something a little different. The Yastrebetz is home to long winding slopes, including the lengthy Yastrebetz 1, which snakes its way through pine trees back to the resort. Ventu...
Despite Bansko’s up and coming popularity, Borovets remains the party capital of Bulgarian ski resorts, with vibrant nightlife guaranteed as soon as you’re off the slopes. The ever-friendly bar hosts at places like Bobby’s and Samokov offer unbelievably cheap local beer, and once the Bulgarian Rakia shots start flowing, you’ll understand why people are back in Borovets year after year. Borovets is far from just another ‘lads holiday’ ski destination. Instead, the country’s oldest ski resort lets a li...
