Overview: hotel description: Hotel Himalaia Baqueira Pierre & Vacances Premium description

Are you ready to hit the slopes, hurtle down black runs and go sledging with your children? Perfect! The Hôtel Himilaia Baqueira is just what you need! Nestled in the heart of the Baqueira Beret resort, this stunning hotel built of stone, wood and slate is the ideal destination for a skiing holiday. Inside, you'll find a warm atmosphere with cosy décor and soft lighting. The hotel has 141 rooms and duplexes spread over 7 floors accommodating 2 to 5 people. Its direct access to the slopes means you can enjoy your winter sports to the max. Take advantage of a total of 157 kilometres of slopes, as well as several snowparks, slalom and freeride zones. Prefer to enjoy nature away from the slopes? You can opt for dog sledding, snowmobiliing, cross country skiing and ski touring. In winter, the resort organises lots of cultural and sporting events, including heliskiing in the Val d'Arán, which is bound to impress thrill seekers. After a wonderful day on the slopes, you can snuggle up by the fire or settle yourself on the sofa in the living area to unwind. Unless you'd prefer to dive into the heated water of the indoor swimming pool, relax at the Spa (pool with water jets, heated showers, sauna, outdoor whirlpool, relaxation area, steam bath) or do some exercise in the fitness studio. We've also thought of everything when it comes to refuelling after a physically demanding day. Depending on how you feel, you can enjoy delicious buffet or à la carte dishes at the restaurant, sip a drink in the lobby bar or lounge bar, or grab a snack in the cafeteria. The hotel also has 3 seminar rooms. - € 0.99 City tax per person per night

Less crowds Gorgeous Pyrenees scenery Huge variety of ski terrain

With a history of non-existent lift queues, terrain that holds up against any of the big-hitter alpine resorts and a rather pleasing price tag to boot, it’s well worth opting for a change of scenery and a week of sun, snow and sangria in this brilliant Spanish ski town.

Established in 1964 and developed by Spanish national ski champion Luis Arias, Baqueira attracts a predominantly Spanish clientele – his majesty, Juan Carlos, has his own residence here, which his children are said to visit nearly every weekend of the season. But don’t expect Espagnol to be the only language, or culture, you encounter in this remote region of the Pyrenees… In actual fact it’s the third official language, behind Catalan and Aranese - an offshoot of Catalan exclusive to the surrounding Aran Va...
If you’re a first-timer, make your way up to the beginner park via the Baqueira gondola, where you’ll find the forgiving Rabada and Pastores greens to master your turns on before graduating to bluer pastures. Easy-going blues run from Beret through Baqueira and on to Bonaigua, so if you’re quick finding your feet, you’ll soon be able to ski the length of the resort. Tentative intermediates can ride the Jesus Serra chair towards Beret to take their pick of nine blue runs (we like the long and rolling Ta Baq...
The beauty of skiing in a Spanish resort is hands down the all-night-long, Spanish après! Baq isn’t a huge resort, but it has built an extensive collection of quality drinking spots. Start off with a glass of fizz at Beret’s chic Moet Lounge and then head down to El Refugi de San Miguel, which serves blissfully cold (you guessed it) San Miguel.
