Near the end of the stunning Ziller Valley, Mayrhofen exudes Austrian charm in a lively, cheerful atmosphere. Dating back to 1511, its architecture's charmingly old school, yet all mod-cons are present and correct. The resort's location is fantastic: Only an hour's drive from Innsbruck airport. The family-friendly nature doesn't stop with its convenient location – restaurants cater for children excellently, kids activities are abundant, and the ski schools are well known as some of the best. "Well equipped, friendly family hotel"

Richard, Leeds
5/ out of 5
The hotel was brilliant – the family that run it were great. Tomas, the guy who owns it, does all sorts of things outside the hotel, like running the local ambulance department. The food was great; we just had breakfast which was continental but always with something different. Tomas’ mum did the cooking and she would always do something special like a potato dish. One day (I think Sunday) they did a special breakfast with smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and champagne. They always had cold meats, homemade breads, museli and other cereals. It was never the same as English but they did put on bacon. Everything was made with local produce. The hotel is just on the other side of the river, a five minute walk to Mayrhofen centre which is also where you get the lift from. We had a twin room but I don’t think they have any twin rooms as we know them – they were all big double beds with 2 single mattresses in and single quilt covers. Downstairs they had a sauna room and a sun bed and massage thing you could lie out on. There’s also a boot room where you can store your things. There’s a lovely bar and Tomas will make you a pizza if you want something in the evening.
