Surrounded by conifer forests, and in the shadow of Pale di San Martino – a group of towering Dolomite peaks – Hotel Fratazza sits in a beautiful location. Just a short stroll from the Tognola cable car, the accommodation offers easy access to the region’s three small ski areas, spanning 60km of wide, well-groomed piste. The resort itself is relatively quiet, but there are a few shops, restaurants, and a couple of laid-back bars to pick from.

The hotel is an ideal no-frills base. Rooms are simple, warmly furnished with wood furniture and have a TV, bathrobes, safe and a hairdryer. But perhaps the hotel’s biggest draw is the Italian restaurant, which makes mealtimes a breeze. Start the day with a continental buffet breakfast, then finish it with a tasty 3-course evening meal. Bellissimo.

There’s not much in the way of extra facilities, but you’ll be able to use the boot room to store your gear, chill out in the sauna, and there’s also a fun games room – table football anyone? Plus, there's a small bar, which makes a nice spot to relax after a busy day.
