Overview: hotel description: Hotel Europa description

The chalet-style Hotel Europa’s a really charming find – think wood panelling outside and in, and rustic paintings and antlers hanging on the walls. It’s perfectly placed too, with the slopes just behind you and Madonna’s bars and restaurants a short stroll away, so you can really make the most of what the stylish ski resort has to offer.

There’re a few ways to spend some downtime here. Challenge your mates to a pool or table tennis tournament, take things easy with a board game, and little ones can have their own fun in the ball pit. For something unique, check out the previous owner’s collection of vintage radios and fossils that’re kept in the hotel.

At mealtimes, you definitely won’t be going hungry. Start each day with a full-on buffet spread with everything from pastries and sausages to omelettes and pancakes. And when the evening rolls around, you’ll be tucking into proper Italian fare – and with five courses, there’s plenty of it. Fancy a nightcap? Head to the bar for a tipple, and if you like trying what’s local, ask for wine or grappa from the area.

Classic ski village Linked area Epic Dolomites scenery

Among the classic destinations for Italian ski holidays, Madonna di Campiglio’s charming mountain village is one of the greats. Connections to Folgarida and Marilleva mean you can explore other areas without having to remove your skis (but with the standard of food on offer, you might want to give your legs a break in a mountain restaurant or two...).

You’ll find Madonna di Campiglio surrounded by a wooded valley, between the cliffs of the Brenta Dolomites (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Adamello - Presanella glaciers. This drop-dead gorgeous scenery’s just one reason to ski here; it’s a classic in the skiing world, with traditional buildings and a lively atmosphere... And while others enjoy the buzz of the town, the joint ski area of Folgarida, Marilleve and Madonna di Campiglio is out there to explore. Launched as a tourist centre towards the...
Beginners in ski school are usually taken by bus to the nursery slopes in nearby Campo Carlo Magna. Once ready to progress, there are two areas for relatively easy skiing at the top of the Pradalago and Groste sectors (served by the gondola from the village) where you'll find plenty of wide cruising trails - we like the 3 mile Graffer run in the Groste area which ends up in the village. Intermediates can enjoy some lovely long cruisey trails through forests. The new red piste Nambino (in the 5 Laghi area) is ...
There’s a lot more going on in the evenings here than in other Italian resorts Italy; with a mixed following of young boarders and the Italian elite, the après includes everything from big nightclubs and lively bars to posh wine bars and cocktail lounges. Zangola is the biggest night club, famous for its dancing and late night partying. It's situated just outside the town but in past seasons there's been a bus which runs all night. Des Alps is the second (slightly pricier) nightclub in the village centre. Two ...

"Really nice family run hotel."

Paul
4/ out of 5
Hotel was pleasant enough, nice feel, quite basic but knew that’s what was signing up for. Food was really good. Family running it super friendly. Really tiny room but knew before hand, was with 2 fairly big kids so wouldn’t do again. Hotel staff were brilliant. Holiday was through Crystal but wouldn’t book with Crystal again we didn’t see them. Fairly long transfer. Access to skiing short walk up the road couple of minutes walk, up to a piste, a walk onto a piste, got very lucky with snow. I’m half Italian so it made it easier for me but it wouldn’t be a problem if you only spoke English.
