Nestled in the heart of the rocky, North-West Alps, you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported to an Italian version of Narnia as you reach the end of the snow-topped pines and arrive at the foot of the holiday village. Airport transfers direct to your door from either of Italy’s Turin or Milan airports and Geneva means you won’t find yourself lugging your skis and boots in tow as you seek out your accommodation. With first-track skiing for early risers who can beat everyone else to the slopes, Cervinia is a snowball of varied surprises. 18 beginner runs make this ideal for novice skiers wanting to embark on their romance with snow sports. Take the chair lift up to Plan Torrette to get a feel for the gentler blue runs. This is a great place for children to learn as ski schools take young skiers up magic carpets and around a whole new world of slopes. A bucket load of intermediate runs means that already accomplished...
Après ski, Après ski, Après ski! A popular spot to start the evening is at the Grivola’s Irish bar which has a happy hour after the lifts close. "Cannot recommend enough"

Nigel Scott, Nottingham

The Bucaneve is absolutely fantastic! We sort of stumbled on it as some friends stayed there a few years back and had recommended it to us, we saw it was available, booked it up and I’d go back tomorrow! We were on a half board package and the food is to die for, absolutely brilliant. There was a varied menu which generally consisted of 4 courses as well as hors d'oeuvres and stuff like that. It was very mixed with regional dishes as you’d expect but a different menu every day which definitely made it more interesting. I’m not a connoisseur but I’ve eaten at some nice restaurants and the food really was first class. They also did afternoon tea at 4 O’clock which consisted of tea and cakes of a very high quality and the lounge where you have the tea is lovely. You have a terrific wine selection and the bar was really nice. If you had a drink at the bar the staff would come out with snacks. The staff were absolutely marvellous, very, very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. It’s within walking distance (5 mins) of the 6 man chair lift, not the gondola which is quite a hike. The Matterhorn is up on the left as you look out of the hotel. The spa was incredible, it was in the lower ground floor or basement and had steam rooms, a swimming pool, sauna and massage things if you wanted a massage. We had a twin bedded room which was more than adequate; it had good WiFi access, a TV and plenty of space. The only thing, although it didn’t spoil it for us, was that the bathroom was a bit tired. However it was still more than adequate, very clean with all the mod cons.
