The 3* Hotel Bon Alpina is located in the centre of Igls, a small Austrian village just a short 20 minute transfer from Innsbruck Airport. It is situated 300m from the Patscherkofelbahn ski lift and should you not choose to walk the few minutes to the lift, a ski bus conveniently stops outside the hotel and passes by on a regular basis.
The Bon Alpina blends typical Tyrolean character of dark woods and richly coloured fabrics to more contemporary lightly coloured bedrooms and bathrooms.
This spacious hotel offers 93 bedrooms of varying sizes, including some family rooms. Most of the bedrooms feature a traditional Austrian twin bed (not two separate single beds), and a range of facilities such as ensuite shower or bath with WC, telephone, TV with satellite channels, radio, safe and hairdryer.
You have a couple of options when booking your package. We always include a daily buffet breakfast as standard, but you can also upgrade to a half-board basis for a supplement. This is a 4-course dinner offering a choice for the main course and there are also themed buffets on certain nights too, served in the hotel's restaurant.
Igls does offer a small number of restaurants if you prefer the flexibility of dining out in the evenings, and it's worth noting that you're only a 15-minutes public bus ride away from Innsbruck, which of course has a huge selection of places to eat, not to mention shops and bars.
When you're not out skiing or perhaps experiencing a ride down the Olympic bobsleigh run nearby, the hotel has a good spa and wellness area. You'll discover an indoor (and partially outdoor) heated swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, solarium and ayurveda centre. There's also a fitness room available.

The Patscherkofel – Innsbruck ski area is made up of 18km of piste from forgiving beginner slopes to challenging Olympic terrain. The uncrowded nursery slopes by the village centre are ideal for beginners to build up their confidence before moving on to the long blue which is accessed from the Bergstation. The Patscherkofelbahn cable car will take skiers to the top of the village to the main skiing area where there’s a selection of easy blues and reds. There is a small selection of cafés, restaurants and bars in this low-key resort but it is not a hub of activity after dark. The majority of bars are located within the hotels including the rustic Bon Alpina, or the cosy bar at the Batzenhäusl. There are a handful of restaurants in the village to choose from - we like Aegidihof for reasonably priced local and international dishes.
