Overview: hotel description: Hotel Bellevue - Canazei description

Hotel Bellevue has a great location in Canazei with fantastic skiing and great après right on the doorstep. It’s only 300 metres from the main Belvedere gondola that links up to the runs of the Val di Fassa and the Sellaronda circuit. When the conditions are right you can ski pretty much all the way back to the hotel on the Del Bosco red run. Or, just use the resort bus (payable locally).

The hotel's simple and traditional with typical Alpine décor. Expect wooden panelling and furniture covered in patterned fabrics. The rooms have a similar feel. Most are small but cosy and have all you need for a comfortable stay. They all have balconies, too. There's a small spa area with a sauna, whirlpool and steam bath that are perfect for easing muscles at the end of the day.

Transfer time: approx. 2 hours 45 mins by coach from Innsbruck airport.

This popular resort is perfectly located within the beautiful surroundings of the Val di Fassa at the heart of the Dolomite ski area. One of the larger resorts in the Fassa area, Canazei has maintained is traditional alpine charm whilst being kitted out with all the modern facilities that make a ski holiday so easy. This is the ideal place to ski the famously beautiful Sella Ronda circuit, which is skiable in a day. Some of the descents are quite difficult, so the circuit is probably best avoided by beginners, but experienced skiers will have an absolute whale of a time. "I love it, really enjoyed the Bellevue hotel. "

I’ve been before and prefer it over the other hotels I’ve been to before. We used the bar and had some drinks and things like that. One of our group, Mark, used the gym and he said that they’d done it up a lot over the summer – so he was very satisfied with it. Absolutely loved it 5/5. Typical Tyrolean food. There is a choice that you order the night before and there’s a good choice of starters, main course and desserts. They’ve got the usual salad bar and soups for starters and fantastic desserts. It’s a help yourself breakfast but there is bacon, eggs, all the cereals, fruits etc. and it’s all absolutely fine. I just think it’s handy for getting to the lifts and when you ski down Canazei, it’s only a 300m walk from the end of the piste. We got the train everyday – a little guy comes around in a bus/train thing and you pay about €1 a day and he goes around all the time every 10-15mins and stops right outside the boot room at the Bellevue. You just get on that and he takes you right down to the lifts.

"Great hotel and food - especially for groups"

Excellent holiday – the hotel is central so you can walk to the pubs, supermarket and shops, it’s quite an easy downhill five minute walk to the ski lift and they also have a lovely little train that stops outside the hotel, collects you and takes you to the lift. You could also ski back there, definitely if you’re an intermediate. It’s a standard Italian hotel, with very friendly staff. There are ski lockers at the basement of the hotel and our room was clean and tidy, quite small but you’re hardly in it so it doesn’t matter. They did a fantastic buffet with a massive range of entrees including salads, meats and loads for vegetarians like pastries etc. They always gave you a menu for the main meal the day before so you can choose what you have and they also did a buffet for dessert – it was really nice to have so much choice as usually you get what you’re given. It had a happy hour and a little disco which was good fun. The hotel definitely catered to groups, there was a large group of Russians while we were here, and there were a lot of couples staying here too.
